    1. Odd brass suspension ring. Details not quite as sharp/distinct as I like to see on an 1870. Core looks oddly grained as well.Possibly later manufacture, ca 1895 for the jubilee. But, having said all this, much clearer/larger photos are needed to be definitive on this cross. Thanks!
    2. Don't snicker...... that's the last known (read that as allowed) photograph of Rick research known to exist. Immediately after this was taken, he leapt from the chair and beat the photographer to death using his false teeth wrapped up in the newspaper....... However, Massachusetts being what it is, the judge let him off with "House Arrest" for 12 years........ sigh, such is life in the COM
    3. I haven't done one of these types of pix in quite awhile......... here's what the FedEx Gal brought today! Yummy!
    4. And there we have one of the great reasons to participate on this Forum for Imperialoids......... a musty basement full of books and a keeper of knowledge "reside" here!
    5. Oh yeah......... a SUPERB grouping of bars and I hope you bugged them incessantly about any medals, photos, documents, etc. that they might still have!
    6. Nobody sneaks by me......... sometimes I actually try to take the time to see who's bidding, that's all! Of course the fact that they listed it in "other militaria" helped sneak it by everybody else. Ricky sees all, Ricky finds all, sometimes Ricky doesn't bid on all!
    7. Hi Tom, nice one, not often seen alone. Just consider for a moment that some folks never received anything other than the "General Decoration"!!
    8. Very nice group Ralph! ThePLM, 1870's are awesome, but then so are the Anhalt & Brunswick singles.
    9. Like the WW1 NC EK2.... a mounted piece is so much better than loose on the ribbon. You know it was really awarded and really worn!
    10. Another nice one! This was one of my favorites... the Silesian Eagle was drop-dead gorgeous!
    11. Here's a Destroyer in the box. No finsih was on it... looked like it was never applied either! Leftover stock at the end of the war?? No clue, but the detail was unbelievable on the die-casting!
    12. Here's a nice pair of Baqueville french-made KM badges in their boxes:
    13. Always nice when those numbers match! here's the inside, with a nice little note from the recipient... or was it his brother, I don't remember now!
    14. How about showing off some dull little cardboard boxes for these awards?? very, very hard to find! Have any?? Here's a Sports Badge Box!
    15. Fantastic pieces and groups. thanks for letting me see what these should really look like.
    16. Here's a photo from my buddy Mike...... he's selling off his collection and I'm grateful to have this awesome photo of what he had!
    17. Here's a pretty rare Luftwaffe GAB box. Again, late war piece inside:
    18. No, not a bunch of "normal" blue/black cases! Show us your cardboard boxes!! Here's a pretty rare late-war PB in one!
    19. ........ speaking of which, this odd type of case was also used on this PG 1870 EK2!
    20. I had a drop-dead gorgeous BSW Glider but I cannot seem to find the pix. Larry is quite right that the BSW wreaths are often cracked at the rivets like this. perhaps the press was a little to powerful when finishing the rivets. It seems to be primarily BSW ones that exhibit this little clue....
    21. Hi Reini, in my experience, the boxes are generic. You will find anything from GAB, IAB to KM in these mottled boxes. Having said that, I see more Austrian origin badges (LDO in Wein, etc) with this style. The KM was a Souval piece. The same holds true for the brown-mottled boxes, plain gray ones. Anything froma numbered RK GAB to a Juncker ACB....... I think the boxes were simply "stock" items and the piece was popped in and sold that way. Occassionally, the gray ones pop up with ink-stamped titles. I've seen those primarily with KM/Luftwaffe badges.
