    1. Here's what was inside the small box: The Cross in the packet Safety Pin for the uniform all 3 ribbon widths! 9mm, 15mm, 25mm.
    2. This very early example came from a bar that was stripped by a German eBayite........... the bar included the German MEZ1 for 1866
    3. And just for fun, here's an example awarded to a German pre-1900!
    4. Here's another... I know what these are, how about you boys & girls??
    5. Heh, heh.... how about some examples of Turkish awards from WW1 other than the TWM??
    6. See, here's another example... but this one is a 25 year one, right? (photo courtesy of Niemann-Hamburg)
    7. And for that matter.... why do some 40-Year crosses have Mother of Pearl Backs and others do not? (photo courtesy of Niemann-Hamburg)
    8. I believe this one is 50-Years for an Officer. (photo courtesy of Niemann-Hamburg)
    9. And while we're on the subject, can someone please post examples and explain the distinctions between the various grades of the Imperial Austrian Officer's Long Service Crosses. I believe this one is 40-Years. (??)
    10. Can anyone sort out the differences between an Austrian 1., 2., 3. Klasse Long Service Award for "Other Ranks"??? As an example, here's a (purported) example of a higher class award. Is this distinction reality? or is it a "fabricated" market for collectors? Thanks! Rick
    11. I'd like to see a close-up of the SS mounting, and a full, close photo of the back please!
    12. I'd agree with John on this. I've never seen a credible/provenenced Para Badge by JFS
    13. Interesting that the hinges on these are so close to the Juncker Heer Para Badge Hinges (Type 1, Aluminum).... or is it just my eyes & wishful thinking?
    14. As an aside........... Marcus, when you publish that book, will there be an extensive "Rogue's Gallery" of bogus boxes, etc. as well??
    15. Hi Jan, oh to be so bored and stuck indoors............ awesome group of badges!
    16. stunning! And very interesting with that logo impressed into the tray!
    17. Gordon, it's interesting that the swastika on the "RK" is black. I don't think it's from a shadow, it looks like it was actually highlighted somehow in black! Also note the change in suspension of the KVK2wX to RKwX.... someone put some serious effort into fabricating this award for him!
    18. Hi Dave, thanks. So the ribbon next to the D/A (that holds the merit cross right now) is probably for the Jubilee Medal?
    19. I think the Time Traveler one is the same. I'll try and post some photos tonight of the 2 styles of official issue boxes.
    20. One of the things that is significant about this bar is to consider how much time passed between the award of the medal and the official sanctioning of the bars themselves. You can tell he mounted the bar after the medal was already mounted by the 'pinch" of the cloth. The Evil One, Rick Research can provide the specific dates/details.
