    1. The more new looking one (not thats there much in it, but thats my explaining diction LOL) To be honest this isn't the best pic I could have used to make my point, but it's more falt on the back, although as you're aware from the pic, you can see the trait of the vault line. Ricky help me out here, you're better at English than the Englishman.
    2. The 'older' (left badge) looking badge back, notice the central vertical line just visible in this light. It's almost gives an impression of being vaulted, which the badges are to a noticeable yet marginal degree.
    3. Right get ready for this, they're all the same bar the designation plate and the exception of minor details. This is the first lot the boring lot. These two look the sameminor difference in the 'wreath' thing and actual look of the badge, one is more 'chromified' the other more dull. The reverse of the badge slightly differs too (I'll show a pic) Pic 1
    4. Thank you Rick, so thats what the little bugger is
    5. Hi guys, My one and only N. Korean medal, it's military medal of sorts........for the life of me I don't recall exactly just now (great post Marcus tut) Gerd broth, You have some nice ones, I bought this because it was.......well I just liked it and it was so cheap from e bay, about 3 pounds. There's a multitude of these N. Korean medals and I think they're great, we know so little about them and it will only be a matter of time and I bet these will be faked and they'll certainly creep up in price !!! Kr Marcus
    6. Ooooh 11 !!!! What sorts are you getting I can't wait to have a look at those, I need to fish all my Russian bits and bobs out. I 've probably 20 plus more Russian medals but just the 'available' find every where sorts. Still luv them though..it's of kind relaxing not to collect these mint or in bloody boxes and packets LOL Kr Marcus
    7. Here's a few of mine, I've neglected the Russian medals for years now and need to add a few more to this 'set' as such.
    8. I've the last two you show, and the red one with snake and cup (what is it serpeant and chalice LOL, I don't even know if I spelt that correctly LOL) Thats a Medical one of course, well according to collect Russia's site yeah I use there as reference. Yes Ricky I think it's 47 I have of these ( maybe more ?), I haven't even counted them all properly and I'd forgotten I even had these, and about 15 or so are naval dated ones, with subs and the naval flag on etc. I guess they're just common bits and bobs. I bought these back in the mid 90's in the UK for 50p and quid for the pretty ones. I think I even have the odd duplicate...if so they are yours cousin :cat-smiley-025: (I just love these cats) Marcus
    9. Rick these are two a penny on e bay, lots in boxes go for 5.99 etc or even less !!!
    10. All the others are like this apart from some 80's dated Sub ones and other Naval types and I think a couple of political ?
    11. A couple more, the AC one is I think, the Leningrad Insitute for aeronautical instruments......the E boat sorts I don't know ? Sorry.
    12. It's been a while since old Marcus has posted here, I see changes !!! Very good changes indeed !!!! I though Ricky you'd like to see these......I do know (I think) what they are, but i can't remember, I'll get back to this thread ( I have to hop back to the WAF where Vadim helped me) I know you like your naval bits and bob's Ricky, and I've just under 50 more of these sorts...so I'll post these at a later date for you to view. Good to see the clan together and such experts in a team again......I must frequent here more often :cat-smiley-025: I hope you like these Ricky ( And you Gerd mate) Kr Marcus
    13. Boxed of course (i just wanted to use this cat LOL
    14. Thats a very nice case ! You could count the likes of these for sale on one hand in a year, and in that condition....well, I'd be so lucky !!! Kr Marcus
    15. It's six of one half a dozen of another in regards to cleaning awards for me, so do I condone it ? Thats a yes, with reservations...it depends on what and to what degree etc Some envisage a detremental polishing or silver dip stripping, some contemplate the years of 'historical' dirt, patina being discarded through a vanity impressed notion of enhanceing the awards appeal.......and so on all arguments fair game, and it's of the owners volition and common sense to carry out such a task. Whether it be to lightly remove visible traces of soiling via a very soft tooth brush and warm soapy water or another method, be it drastic in the eye's of some collectors or not, this subject will alway's have those for and against.......it's a contentious subject on some forums ! I did decide to clean this award, and prefer it in it's post state. I cleaned it in a solution of water, salt, a very mild detergant and tin foil (aluminium foil) placed in the bottom of a plastic dish. I then, hence soaking the award in the solution for 2 min's, swilled the award under a running tap. I repeated the process twice to achieve a desired state. I don't polish or use metal cleaning products, I purely wanted to get rid of the dirt and tarnish in this instance. Kr Marcus A before picture of the cross in the state I purchased the award.
    16. Tony, I may own this mate, but how I got it, believe you me was no 'purchase' as such, it was in part and parcel of a refund......my collection before educated by the likes of you etc...was fake upon fake, I was ruddy clueless (still am if honest ssshhhh!) Kr Marcus
    17. Nice, very nice and by the looks nice clean cases !!!! Here's my S&L.....I love the outer carton, it's a more later carton in so much as it has the makers name on it, before that they were more generic........then the Ldo stepped in upper most in 1943 and changed the rules as a whole.......every thing once used went to the Ldo boxes. Kr Marcus
    18. Hello mate !!!!, Good to see you on here and Dave and all the other guys.....it seems a very pleasant forum. Have you found any more packets Tony........I just love the one you sent me Here's another odd KVK an L/53 with weird pin, it's a genuine set up and Frank from the WAF has another example with the same hinge and catch but a slightly different pin. Kr Marcus
