This Case could be considered as Republican Period as well
During the Regency period they used mainly the cases from the King Boris period
The inset looks like it is to accommodate a cross with a crown, however such cases were used for the Republican Period as weii
The reason is that they used left overs cases and added the new cover for the lid for the republican period
The fourth line states "with swords above" That mean that the case is for a 4th Class- Officer with sword above the cross
I have similar case however I have to look for it

There was not much difference between the Sta Alexander Crosses between the King Boris period and the regency. The Only difference was with the crosses with swords above the cross During the regency the Crown has arms -like this 5th Class on the second picture on the picture -on the very bottom on the left
