    1. Not Original, yes i have seen worse copies
    2. Very nice ti0pic Those collections are wonderful The Early Bulgarian Post Ottoman Period they used Russian made Shoulder Boards Here are early Prince Alexander/ Prince Ferdinand items The pouch is called "liadunka" I will be interested to know what is the meaning of this word
    3. Hi ilieff, Thank you for the pictures The last Star, which according to Igor's Classification, is the 1st type. The design looks very different . Also the swords are different. Does that mean the maker could be different We are not sure whether more makers were involved apart from Ivan Osipov.
    4. I am not surprised The Star of the Grand Cross I posted earlier was sold for 1650 Euro plus 27% premium Could have gone more if i did not stop bidding Sadly i missed it.
    5. Hi Igor, Original ribbon/sash for Grand Cross is difficult to find, however not impossible ...just be patient I recently managed to track the origin of the unusual swards of my Grand Cross Star It was used by the Firm Godet Berlin for the Orders of one of the German States When I did buy it few years ago from an Auction , the seller claimed to be German made The back has different pin system and central plate On examination it did not look like the swards were added in later stage. It appear it was made this way i can only explain the different swards that they did not have the standard Bulgarian ones and used those instead for a German awarded person. the front central medallion is French type one As a whole the body of the Star looks more German then French
    6. OK Now it is more clear Simply the text was OK Now is clear Simply i got confused because this text was under the photo of the General Yes, it could be Ferdinand Star in the Museum in Sofia unless he had more then one Cheers
    7. Hi Igor, Nice Awarding Document Congrats That was much easier job then i expected. On the eMedals Auction the Star looked in a worse condition Well sometimes the pictures can give you a wrong impression You got it on bargain price. He still is trying to sell the other Star for $7500 Congrats The Star of General Genev is not from King Ferdinand photo It is later model
    8. Early unusual Star by unknown maker
    9. I nice Star of the Order of the Crown by Wolfers Star by Heremans
    10. Hi Igor, Now we have to find photos or/and Documents to support your Topic Cheers
    11. Igor, That is a great work I am amazed how you can get all those Documents It is obvious that your passion is the early Prince Alexander period and you focused your efforts on this period BTW You managed to restore and clean this Star very well Cheers
    12. Silver gilded with Gold central Medallions and Diamonds
    13. Hi Igor, That is another nice find. Is any way we can ask the Museum in Sofia to measure those Stars The Prince Ferdinand Star looks bigger size I can assume that the Stars for the Monarchs Prince Alexander Collar looks spectacular BTW It is interesting that on the table listed in one of the earliest post it shows that the Collar was not awarded I assume that as Monarchs Prince Alexander and Prince Ferdinand automatically were classified for them without the need to bet recorded in the lists
    14. Hi Elmar Lang, Thank you for listing This is stunning Star and to have it in such good condition is remarkable!. Also this is a quite rare maker - additional bonus for the Star and the collector
    15. Yes, Thanks all involved in the research. I also agree that it could be clerical mistake I came across (and I have few) decorations with mistaken text by the makers Reason, in my opinion is that the text is in foreign for the makers language One is for sure we now know that the he was awarded a Grand Officer Class (2nd Class) of the Order for Civil merit and only the Star is different from the Standard design. I came across few (and I have some) decorations with not a standard design What was the reason it is pure guess As far as i managed to track his career he reached rank of Oberst (Colonel) and Grand officer will be more appropriate to be awarded.
    16. I am amazed the numbers of foreigners awarded compared to the Bulgarians ,especially 1st Class Sets. Hi Igor, Nice find of the Group photo of the awards in the Koburg Museum
    17. Thanks Dave and Ian, That is something I noticed in Ian post of the list of the awards twice abbreviations - bulg, and ott and ones -it Those could be related for his foreign awards on the photo, although not sure
