Bob, as usual it is almost all speculation but last I heard this is how it lays now: A.S. and .A.S are thought to be made by Adolph Scholze from the area of Gablonz, linked through manufacturing technique to Gablonz maker R.K. The AS triangle could possibly be A.D. Schwerdt (tridangle being a D in ancient Greek) but you would expect the biggest letter to be the last name and not the middle name. Mike Tucker had one of these in an A.D.Schwerdt packet which strengthens this line of reason but no one has produced another example with the packet so who knows. It could also be an as yet unidentified Gablon manufacturer. One day we will know for sure. Don
