    1. Another nicely marked piece. Congratulations Don. So far when a pin is attatched it is the same style. --dj--Joe
    2. Yes sir, it has been my experience that solder is an accepted period attachment method for hollow back tinnies, along with some examples that have pin retaining plates like the first example you show. --dj--Joe
    3. The solder joints you show all appear to me to be period accepted quality! You will find the attachment points of pins on tinnies done in various methods. Repair efforts when seen are usually quite obvious, in my opinion. --dj--Joe
    4. Don, thanks for sharing! I have yet to run across any of these out and about. --dj--Joe
    5. Douglynn, I do not recall these being painted. Perhaps some few were post war enhanced. A nice item. You should consider adding it to the tinnie database. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5051 --dj--Joe
    6. I was puttering around in my small WHW flower garden arranging some background ideas, thought to post them. --dj--Joe
    7. An example shown in the following link without cutouts but it reads, a miniature. --dj--Joe
    8. Nice looking tinnie! Simple design that tells what it is about at a glance. --dj--Joe
    9. Benten, it is indeed U.S. it appears to be an early Army Aircorps emblem. --dj--Joe
    10. Chris Clark, thank you. We have a winner. I am pleased to see another example like mine. Your images came out much better than mine! Regards,--dj--Joe
    11. I remember seeing the Stahlhelm badges for sale also but it's been a few years back and memory fades. Will keep my eyes open for the requested dates. Chris Clark, nice wall! The RAD honour pin (5th. from the right in the top row) appears to match my example. At least it looks like it may have a rounded shovel tip. I would certainly appreciate seeing a close up of it if possible obverse and reverse. --dj--Joe
    12. Thanks Don, e-militaria, Gold Party Pin Guy and all who have contributed to this thread, I appreciate getting a chance to view all of these. Not an item I have run across yet. --dj--Joe
    13. Uwe, shame on me. I remember reading that thread, clean forgot you had posted an example. Thank you,--dj--Joe
    14. Reverse. I have never been positive as to the age of these examples. The number partially hidden by the pin is 34815. --dj--Joe
    15. Uwe, thank you. Here is why I wondered about DRA badges. Obverse. --dj--Joe
    16. Uwe, do any of the post war catalogs show the DRA badges for sale? I would not mind seeing examples that show the DRL along with whatever came right after I believe it was DSA and LSA. I am not sure which catalogs to inquire about, St.&L. for one. Others? Regards, --dj--Joe
    17. Interesting! If possible I for one would appreciate seeing some of the post war catalogs showing all these different sports badges. Regards,--dj--Joe
    18. Appreciate seeing these examples. I have toyed with the thought of picking up an example but always manage to wait too long. I tend to prefer the typeII to the typeI. --dj--Joe
    19. Alexey, a link about your badge in post #63 http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9230&hl=fencing --dj--Joe
    20. Robert, you have a nice example! Don, cap badges can indeed be interesting. Reverse. --dj--Joe
