      Thanks very much for your very useful information. I must apologise for not giving all the information about the photos. I do this sometimes when I am in a hurry. The top three were taken at the Kaserne in Bremerhaven. The other photos just have "Marine Kaserne" written on them in the same handwriting. Cheers, Larry

      Hi Morten, The patch is field-grey. My scanner has made it look darker. I see what you mean, The letters on my patch are closer together. Measurement is 5.5cm. Cheers, Larry

      Nice photo. It would be nice to know his service history. Is that a KvK and Luft 4 Year Service ribbon bar he is wearing. Photo must have been taken late war. I was thinking that the Vizeadmiral in the photo I posted above might be August Thiele. Ribbon bar and medals that can be seen match those awarded to him. Facial features match as well. Cheers, Larry

      Thank you very much Morten. Not specialist insignia but insignia worn by WM sport teams. Anchors on shorts: the two at left were worn by enlisted men and NCO's, the one second from right with a border was worn by officers. Cheers, Larry
