    1. Interesting, I've not seen the 100th Anniversary of the Constitution cross before... must add it to the Bavarian section of my website and start searching for images... at least I now know what I am looking for ๐Ÿค“
    2. Yes, it does look a bit sharper.
    3. That's beautiful. Welcome aboard Yang Chuyu.
    4. Fine beastie...
    5. Good and appropriate that King Charles III will be presenting the first batch personally.
    6. Great explanation showing us just what to look for - thank you!
    7. ... and when I looked, I found a series of minor variations in the insignia with dates, but no change at or around 1985 so whatever was changed wasn't the actual medal!
    8. Ooooh, nice! That collection is coming on nicely.
    9. Originally instituted on 17 December 1972, and awarded for services towards the strengthening of friendships between the USSR and other socialist states, and contributions to the development of the USSR and its constituent states. Everywhere I can reach from here (Russian as well as English) mention an amendment of the statues in 1985 but none of them say what the amendments actually involved! Will have a look in a detailed book I have when I get back into my corner...
    10. It makes me want to visit Thessaloniki! Sorry, been very busy of late, must get organised and post some Greek stuff for you. Reading Week at the University so maybe a bit more time ๐Ÿคž The orders are reasonably easy to find, it's the other stuff that gets messy, particulary with the way they oscillated between monarchy and republic... and let recipients continue wearing what they got under one regime even when it changed!
    11. Thank you for the links...Do intend to include them, but have been doing other nations recently and time for medals is limited by work being busy! Some day, some day... ๐Ÿค“
    12. Rather handsome - do you think this was awarded to somebody or is it a nice collection made up? Not that medal bars are my thing, I prefer single specimens! This is rather fine, though, enjoy it!
    13. Nice... but what to do with medals that never got awarded? Are they worth including? Or only as a sort of curious footnote?
    14. The Welsh for "sergeant" is "rhingyll"... if you say "rhing" it's a bit like saying "sarge" - OK in conversation, not so much in official documents or indeed medals.
    15. Thank you, that's what I thought but best to check ๐Ÿค“
    16. Fascinating thread, some really useful detailed information there. Thanks, folks!
    17. In isoation, visually, yes I'd agree... But - traditionally, British kings have been pictured with their wives on Coronation medals, although they've been side by side rather than the rather weird arrangement on the Charles III one... And he's facing the 'wrong' way! But yes, an improvement on the UK version.
    18. OK, I have passed the information on to him.
    19. I've been updating the Greek section of my website. As I'm finding out more than fits on there - which is finding its way into my files which, God willing, will one day see the light of day as a series of PDFs - would people like to see more on here? And be able to chip in when they have knowledge or images to share, of course? I'm also trying to come up with a definitive order of precedence, but its very messy particularly with a monarchy, a republic, return of a monarchy, the generals, nd finally the current Hellenic republic coupled with everyone being allowed to wear whatever they've been awarded even if it was from a former regime!
    20. Wim, do you have any copies left? I posted a copy of my review on the OMSA website and someone asked where he could buy the book. What is the postage to the US (I think that's where he is, but no point in asking until I know if there's a book you could send him!)?
    21. Which ribbon do you believe is the correct one?
    22. Excellent, thank you. Something new learned is always a joy ๐Ÿค“
    23. Thank you, No One. I'll have to amend that page on my website. Is the one you posted the Type 1?
    24. Interesting - the thing I have for North Korea's Order of Labour (์กฐ์„ ๋กœ๋ ฅํ›ˆ์žฅ) is this:
