    1. Tony, No they are still a one piece helmet that has failed to come up to code somehow. They exist in all three models ie 35, 40 and 42. they are often called Kradmelder helmets but the bottom line is they failed code and are re entered into a production line that then stamps the beaded ring into the helmet so that it can never be confused with a helmet that passed code. They are then sent down the civic line Fire Luftschutz etc. I do have some where there are obvious flaws on the helmet. I shall try and dig them up.
    2. I think it lacks detail on the rope border and from the picture it looks a bit boxy, it should be fractional longer in proportion then again it could be that the picture is squashed a bit. It looks like it is marked RZM (normal circle) SS (in a Diamond?) OLT (maker) then 626??. I remember one of these being someones phone number once. Perhaps a search on that marking would turn something up.
    3. Guys, A rather unusual unit produced book printed in occupied Holland. It appears to poke fun at the various personalities and departments using verse. It is cleverly written. At 120 pages it is too much to copy so an extract only.
    4. Thanks for the info Bernhard. Kev it is nice to be able to surprise you since I know you have an extensive collection of paper.
    5. Guys, Here are a handful from last week, seems the person collected this image specifically? Different stamps on the reverse but they appear to be from Austria?
    6. Guys, Again from last week. Sorry about the order of the pictures but it is a bit awkward as it is an A5 fold out affair.
    7. Guys, This is from last week but I have not had time, access or inclination to post. I have had a word with myself and am back in action. It appears to be for schooling and has a lot of alleged data from the time? Can do more pics if anyone has a specific interest in this direction. The cover artwork is quite striking and it is in A4ish format.
    8. Odulf, Is there a better picture of the badge available to tuck this up? Cheers!
    9. Guys, Not much about today, just this sadly! Seems a bit odd as it does not seem to confer any medal it appears to be just a thanks from the veterans organisation on behalf of the State? It is larger than A4 so the scan has not caught the edges, sorry!
    10. Bernhard I'm not at home right now. He was KIA in 44. I have a town and his name but not with me. I will post up the details when I get back.
    11. Guys, I assume this is wrong as I can't find any reference to this abbreviation. It is a black backing with grey thread none of which glows up on UV. I suppose these are for the re- enactment type folk? I don't really like the lettering with regards to the T and the L in Großdeutschland. It was free so it would have been rude to say no but I thought it may be of use for reference to copies.
    12. Guys, From today's finds. Totally as it was, not messed with. Can't see anything overtly wrong with the helmet, perhaps it failed on the steel quality or such like? couple more pics of decal
    13. Bernhard, I shall try and do a better shot of the certificate later, what a coincidence that she worked for that shipping line! I had a google of the 'Columbus' and its fate is quiet interesting in that the crew scuttled her in the first days of the war to deny us the booty. I hope I can get the paperwork as well and perhaps any photos that exist, I shall keep you informed. Best Regards
    14. Nice catch mate! I seen it in the week but I was logged in on my phone and I don't like to type on it as its a bit small. Best regards
    15. Guys, Got this last week, going back for the paperwork hopefully. Have removed it from the horrible board it was on Nice little Shinkel!
    16. Guys. Is there anyone on the forum that might have some recommended reading in this area. It is not for myself but for a new pal that is rather busy at the moment. I know there are some smart people on here so I hope someone can be of assistance. Cheers.
    17. Osta,Gunner1, Thanks for the extra info. Sorry about the late reply but i am offline during the week currently. Cheers.
