    1. Absolutely correct there are two versions of this medal, the one on my pictures without the "Scharff" writing underneath the bust and the one of the medal on ebay which has the writting. Nevertheless the medals are same size and same working. And I am still standing with my opinion that the medal offerd is a fake !
    2. I think that the pictures are talking for themselves. Best regards Milan
    3. To better illustrate the fact that this medal is faked I will add some pictures of the same medal but an item which is 100% OK and out of the appropriate period. First you have to look at the embossing of the inscriptions, they are not work, and even if you would be assuming that they have been worn, the gold plating was made afterwards. But talking seriously it is obvious that a original medal was mould-copied and the freshly gold plated.
    4. A very rare medal indeed unfortunately it is a fake !! ebay item regards Milan
    5. Hi Luka the order of the national hero is one of those orders where the eye is not enough (sounds like 007 ) !! Sorry, jokes aside. To be sure I at least would have to touch it and hold it in my hand and then to examine it with a magnifying glass. Just looking at your pictures and listening to your description I would say that it is a late IKOM item. If you can examine the border and take a picture of the border would be nice. Regards Milan
    6. Hello Kevin it's a pin of the Association of war volonteers of the Kingdom of Jugoslavia. They had a big reunion in 1931 and that was the purpose of this pin. The soldier is wearing a typical Serbian uniform with hat. Best regards Milan
    7. Hello Waldemar I have my copy already. It has even some pictures out of my collection inside. Having a reference catalogue is OK, but I am not very happy that it is a catalogue with price list. This will result in a "harder" front with the dealers hanging on to the catalogue and not dealing each item as it is, thus regarding the state and ownership and ...... . It was time to have such a book but without pricelists. IMHO ! One other detail: I have nothing against that the book is written in Croatian but I would have been aspecting that at least in the chapter Titles the names of the orders and medals would have been given as they are originally named in Serbian. The diferences are small but the main public will not be speaking Croatin/Serbian and then the will start giving the wrong names to the orders and medals. Best regards Milan
    8. correct it's the Djerdap System of hydroelectric plant and Danube shipping regulations. A Roumanian-Yugoslav combined project. regards Milan
    9. This is the gold medal "Franjo Kluz" distributed by the VSJ - Vazduhoplovni Savez Jugoslavije (Airflight society of Jugolsavia). It was instituted in 1955 and was awarded for outstanding achivments and merits in the air sports domain. The name of the medal was changed in 1958 to "Zlatna plaketa Franjo Kluz" (breast medal). The first attribution took place in 1956 and as far as known ther were only 176 awarded until 1973. From this date there are any other attribution in the archives to be found, thus we must assume that the attributen stoped in 1972. The atributtion took place at the end of the year and the sport achivements had to be of high international meaning to be taken in consideration for . Thus at leas some national record or any international title or similar. Franjo Kluz was was in WWII the first partizan pilot. The medal was awarde in a blue box of quadratic size without any writings on the outer side, on the inside ther is a makers mark of IKOM Zagreb stamped in golden letters. As far as I know there are three items in collectors hands and one box. The law of institution prohibited any selling of the order. Best regards Milan
    10. Here is one of the rarest Yugoslavian awards ever distributed ! Question what is it ? Looking forward to any proposals . Regards Milan
    11. The Ilinden commemorative has indeed been the only medal issued by one of the six Republics building the Yugosalvian confederation. The medal was issued to the living participants of the famous Ilinden uprising 1903 agianst the Turks, and there were approx. 2500 item distributed. The bearers had many advantages like a full and free medical treatment in military hospital, evry year a one month free vacation in Macedonian Republic holliday resorts, 50% rabate on any public transportation and funerals on state costs. Those advantages have not been transferable on other persons or family members. regards Milan
    12. Hello Anatoly to me too it looks too rough ! IKOM items have been worsening in quality with the time progressing but so important orders always have been checked before leaving the factory. IMHO this is a unfinished item which "felt off the truck" (probably in the 1991 worries) and it was refurbished and finished recently. Best regards Milan
    13. Forgott to mention something the only thing what is missing are the three according ribbon bars which usually were in the box too (the empty spaces beside the breast star) regards Milan
    14. Hello KDVR yes the box is original and the order looks OK. To be more sure I would need some better resolution pics, but as far as I can sees there is nothing wrong and if the price is reasonable this could be a nice buy. Best regards from Switzerland Milan
    15. Hi sorry for the delay, I have not read my forums ...... Permission granted to use the pics, if you like send me your email per PM and I can send you high resolution pics. Regards Milan
    16. Hi Anatoly this medal is from communistic period of the Yugoslavian red cross, the medal was given as far as I know for blood donors. Regards Milan
    17. Thanks for the info Paul, I would have forgotten to look after M&E catalogue ! Regards Milan
    18. Hi Paul you are certainly right regarding the fact that most of the "hardliner" collectors have Yugoslavian/Serbian/Montenegrin roots and find the reason to collect in the fact that they have a connection to the former country. But you are completely wrong regarding the famous ANS sell in London. I was one of the bidders desperatly trying to save some of the wonderfull pieces to my collection. I was managing a package of 50'000 EUR for me and 2 friends. The result was that we bought 3 items (THREE !!!!!) The rest was almost completely divided in between two dealers who after the auction put most of those items on sale for double the price they have paid in London. And the realised prices have already been astronomic high. Regards Milan
    19. Hello Owain grab it !!! This is a very correct price for such a set. Best regards Milan
