    1. Please let us know if new information comes to light. I have the impression that their bad press is richly deserved.
    2. Excellent photos, Jacques, thanks for posting. Did the award of the WWII version of the Panzerkampabzeichen rule out the wear of the unique badge worn by von Thoma's panzer troops?
    3. Congratulations on those unique new additions to your collection.
    4. What type of act would warrent the awards of either the lion or the palm devices?
    5. Check out the fade in the FAM ribbons here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3542 For that matter, note the way the Saxon green fades too.
    6. Thanks! Yet another addition to the must visit list.
    7. Ralph, I should have asked this question much earlier, what would it take to get you to share your "tobacco leaf" technique?
    8. I have found the overlapping style of ribbon bar to be interesting and not frequently encountered. Is there a reason for that? Did the style fall from favor or did it just not gain wide acceptance?
    9. Paul, you're in the military and know the crimes that are committed under the guise of "exigencies of the service." I believe it is possible for one person to have all five crosses but highly unlikely. Four are easy to imagine because they are on the eastern front but adding one for the eastern front would be a bit of a stretch. I have only seen black and white photos of the other two crosses and can only deduce colors from those photographs. Perhaps some of our members have examples they could post... and as an afterthought imagine just surviving all five of those brutal, bloody campaigns..."stay alive for five"...doubtful.
    10. None of the veterans crosses are particularly easy to find. There are a total of five and Neimann's latest book shows four different styles of cross. The bar pictured here has the crosses for Somme, Verdun and Champagne which are tough enough to find but the real rare birds are Argonne and Ostfront. The most I have seen on a medal bar are four of these crosses but there might be someone out there with a five bagger!
