There is a partial list for arms makers and leather fabricators in Sam Costanzo's The Wonderful World of Luger Proof Marks long out of print and collectors copies go for around $300. The numbers represented a specific government inspector assigned to the facility.
I used to have hundreds of Britains back in the day now I'm down to a few super handpainted pieces. I also collected British cap badges with a vengeance but got away from it almost 20 years ago. Over 400 badges in the collection so over time I'll post a few of what I believe to be the really rare ones as well as those in hallmarked silver.
I'd be willing to bet the devil is in the details or rather the lack of them. One of the reasons I like Imperial is quality of work and the crispness of the detail. It may be the photo but the details look soft as if it were a casting.
