    2. There is a Belgian/ Dutch WWI forum, axed on the history, I know some members often do some research at the library of the museum. You could ask there. http://www.forumeerstewereldoorlog.nl/ And BTW, I think I have the medal you are looking for.
    3. Hello, it is not easy at all. You have to do it personaly and there is a cost.
    4. Just got some great help on a maritime forum. One of the members send me a 50 pages PDF file treating about the shipowner; Louis David Verbist. Unfortunatly nothing about him as a consul ...but I did find out he was also a general in the Garde Civique of Antwerp. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garde_Civique A other point of interest to me, and it brings us back on track, regarding the military aspect of the forum.
    5. It defenetly is Louis David- Verbist. Still curious about the country; New Grenade! Would love to know more then what is on the wiki page... Did they had uniforms , medals etc....
    6. Thanks for your help. On a other forum they managed to give me the name, most likely; Louis DAVID. The search goes on.
    7. Hello all, not realy militaria but I hope you would allow me to post a question regarding this leather portofolio bearing initials of the consul of Nueva Granada. Apparently this country only existed for a very short periode of time in the north of South America, from 1830 to 1850. Probably the consulat was located in Antwerp, Belgium, and I am trying to find out who the consul was. Exept for his initiales, he probably was a Belgian aristocrat, judging by the nobility crown. Thanks for any help.
    8. Intresting post. Nice medal. Congrats.
    9. My question was not ment to prove right or wrong. Just wanted to have more clues. To see in what direction to search. I have never seen a similar one before....but I am very curious to know what it stands for.
    10. Like I said in the other topic regarding this ..."thing"...; it is a fake. Nothing good to it. Sorry.
    11. GdC26 said it all! Shape doesn't correspond, and finish is crude. A total fake.
    12. Hello, what makes you say it is Belgian?
    13. I would leave it where it is. Nothing original to it. Might be a reworked theater prop.
    14. I was told that Adler's family do not want the last name to be used on fora. Could a mod kindly remove it here too, please.
    15. I was informed in a pm on this forum... I met him once.At my home when he came to fetch something he baught. I liked him. A great loss.
