Freikorps Insignia
Gerd Becker replied to Nick's topic in Germany: Weimar Republic & Deutsche Freikorps
Thank you! -
Hi there, i have this DLV membership badge and i wonder if its a real one or a copy. The quality in hand is amazing. Three piece construction with hard enamel on the red areas and the swastika. Purely from the quality its fine, i think, i just have never seen one on a stickpin or in multiple piece construction. Thanks, Gerd

Freikorps Insignia
Gerd Becker replied to Nick's topic in Germany: Weimar Republic & Deutsche Freikorps
I had this in my odds and ends box for years and allways thought it to be some kind of schützenfest relatet cap badge or something, but only today i found out, its probably a Freikorps cap/collar badge of the Freiwilliges Landesschützenkorps (according to weitze at least). Its really well made and heavy for a hollowback badge and the frosted finish is pretty neat. Is this a legit piece? -

Thanks, Megan. I have a hardcopy from Eric´s book, as i helped him a little bit with material for his book back then, but thanks for the link, its good to have a copy on the computer too. Edit: I just noticed, its an extended version. Even better! -

Hello gentlemen, i am a total novice, when it comes to Uniforms and Insignia and i would appreciate your input to this KM breasteagle. I have checked several dealerwebsites and forums to find a similar one, but i didn´t. I don´t have a good feeling about it, as it looks kind of crude to my noob eyes. Also the gap on the left wing was one thing, that i didn´t find on any "accepted originals". Thanks in advance for any help best, Gerd

Thats interesting, Paul I got this one, awarded on the same day, also to a woman and just 7k off your s/n. You could be right with your long-service award hypotesis. I´ll post a pic of the document tomorrow. -

Hi gents, i have this Kriegschronik of a Reserve Lieutenant of the Inf.Reg.190, which is unfortunately stained with coffee, like it seems. Luckily only two of the stains expand into the actual picture. I thought about cleaning it, but i have been told to better leave it alone and thats probably the best advice. It´s still nice though. Take a look: Text: closeup of the stains. Chronic is obviously made by Anton Hoffmann, Munich I really like the artwork on this piece. Were these made personally for every soldier or was there a "blueprint" of these Chronicles?

Amazing group, Bob. Thanks for sharing. -
Hello there, i have a very small collection of albanian orders and medals and i wonder, what else is out there. I don´t see them very often on the market, so they either pretty scarce or the have no market at all. I have no idea, what it is. However, here is, what i have: Medal "Remembrance 1942-43" made by IKOM Zagreb an Order of Labor 3rd class it has a simple pinback supension on the reverse Medal for Bravery Obverse Medal for Bravery reverse Medal for the Liberation of the Country obverse(comes with a yellow ribbon) Medal for the Liberation of the Country reverse is plain Lets see, what you have... all the best, Gerd

Hi there, this is my only Medal for Labor, but it has an interesting feature. The text on the obverse is "mirrored" partly on the revese. Did this happen often with this medals? all the best, Gerd

too much vodka? Looks like he slipped a digit, as there´s definately a 4 under that 9. IMO this is a simple engraver mistake, not something with fraudulent intentions, but you never know... please post your own weird serialnumbers and other interesting stuff like reissues and Duplicates

Lets see your Soviet Civil Awards Groups
Gerd Becker replied to Paul R's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Here are some of my ribbonbars. All of them are of the D-profile type and i believe they are all real. Lets start with what i think is a double Red Banner of Labor and a meritious Labor in GPW medal: Next up is a slightly strange ribbonbar with a Lenin, Red Banner of Labor, and a meritious Labor in GPW: This one has a Badge of honor: Medal for Valiant Labor and Meritious Labor in GPW and Veteran of Labor: Medal for Valiant Labor: and this one. Okay, its just a Veteran of Labor Medal but i really like it: -

Nice groups everyone. I allways liked the american style to mount these minis with a long ribbon. -
Lets see your Soviet Civil Awards Groups
Gerd Becker replied to Paul R's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Thanks Ferdinand. I´m pretty bad with recognizing ranks and uniforms. Paul. those are some nice little groups. I can imagine a labor veteran wearing the first medalbar, even if its a little bit unusually mounted. Is the Military Merit Medal numbered in the last group? When was it awarded? -
Lets see your Soviet Civil Awards Groups
Gerd Becker replied to Paul R's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Thanks Paul. sadly i have no idea, how they received their awards. To your second question, I am not aware of any regulation that forbid to wear Labor awards during your active military service and i have seen quite a few photos of active military wearing Labor awards. The first photo is dated 1951, so i guess, this chap was still in service, I´ll try to find some more photos...
