    1. I have resized the scans for you, Ron. These are 750 pixel wide now, that should be perfect for Ricks monitor resolution, i think.
    2. Thanks, Dan. It is very close, but its not the one pictured. I will scan a closeup later and post it here. Thanks for posting it though Gerd
    3. Yes, please post more about him. Very nice What do you have of his group? Thanks for posting! Gerd
    4. Thanks, Paul. I am glad, you liked it. I hope, other people will post their researched screwbacks (hint, hint)
    5. WHOWEEEEEEE!!! Just fantastic! You know, that you have to post closeups now, do you? Is it researched? Please tell us more about Colonel Gorlach. @Eric: Here is the picture of your ORB together with his new brothers and sisters Which one is it?
    6. Doc, they are not. They are indeed Fire Department Service Medals. Gerd
    7. PK, here is it mentioned, that he got an EK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Chapman Must have been an EK 2 probably!? Gerd
    8. Nice one, Mike. Thats really one of my favourite Mongolian Orders, although i don?t have one myself yet. Gerd
    9. Well, they are slightly bigger, maybe thats why you like them most. Fantastic piece, Wild Card. Thanks for sharing Gerd
    10. Glad, you all liked it. The memories of the veterans are just great and the Flash-Presentation is one of the best, i have ever seen. Fantastic work! I wish, our friend Rick could see this, but his squirrel-powered Computer can?t handle things like Flash-presentations and website in alien language.
    11. Gentlemen, i found this link and thought, you might be interested. http://english.pobediteli.ru/index.html Check out the Mulitmedia-Map, its great!! For Rick, its alien language, so don?t click on it Hope, you enjoyed as much as i did. all the best, Gerd
    12. One must keep in mind, that the book was written 1997 and of course do come new fact to light every now and then. Compared to other references it has not very much mistakes and is still today THE BOOK for collectors of soviet awards. Maybe the new book from Shishkov and Muzalevsky will take its place one day, but without a doubt its still one of the most reliable references on the market. A very respected russian collector told me that there was no change of Liberation of Belgrade Medals for Military Merit Medals, does anyone know more about this? best Gerd
    13. In my opinion and maybe i am a little picky, even that is already a step to far. Notes get lost over the time or the next buyer "forgets" this detail when reselling the group. Maybe for Display purposes, when i have a spare one, but never, when i resell a group. Just my two Euro Cents...
    14. Its spelled Pliyev in the rest of my research-translations and the wikipedia entry also used Pliyev: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Issa_Pliyev Further it is spelled this way in a copy of a Unit-History of the 4th Guards Cossack Cavalry Corps, i have. Hope, this helps. regards, Gerd
    15. The soviet motherhood awards are nice and the orders are extremly well made. What do you have left now, Darrel?. There can?t be much more?! Are you going for Suvorov?s and Kutuzovs now?
    16. Darrel, i guess, as its an award for a whole career, the Veterans valued them.
    17. Oooooooohhhhh Post it over at the Researched Awards Forum with the research VERY nice
