    1. Well, Doc, i am no angel, i took MONEY for it Which will be invested in another, hopefully researchable piece Thanks to Dan for a smooth transaction Gerd
    2. It was done this way to be able to remove and reattach the order to the uniform. If you stitch it to the uniforum with two metal rings, it has to stay there, but if you stick it through the loops, its removable, if the uniform has to be cleaned, for example.
    3. Hi Dan, i am glad, you like it And i know, you?ll take good care of it
    4. Andrei, yes, please send me a pm, where the book is available online. I will buy the hardcopy for sure, but i would really like to take a peek before. Thanks! Gerd
    5. That one looks just great from the obverse Even the mint mark and s/n doesn?t look so bad. Thats a really scary fake You just have to educate yourself, when collecting these orders and my next purchase will be Durov/Strelakov?s book about Red Banners. But if they improve their fakes as good as before, it will be very very difficult to spot a fake. Gerd
    6. One of the reasons, i changed to Soviet. Not, that its better there, but these minis never come with paperwork, so no confirmation of the actual receipient. I have seen hundreds of messed with mini-chains or mini-groups.
    7. Very interesting, Andrei What i have learned by looking at as many Red Banners as possible, is that you can?t go by the obverse details, but better concentrate on the mint mark and s/n-style. Thats not allways the solution, like the ORB (from you) on the picture below shows, which is absolutely okay IMO, but the mint mark and the s/n-style are most unusual for this numberrange. I recommend you to take the time to take a look and also translate (with babelfish or similar...) the text to the single variations on Andrei?s website www.mondvor.narod.ru Its a slow connection, so be patient. But its worth the wait
    8. Dave, i would also be interested in the book, you are planning to do. Gerd
    9. Hi Rick, i think, its a matter of how much white enamel was used on these Orders. I have seen both on early Type 3 ORB?s, with touching plow and with a non touching plow. Gerd
    10. Interesting pieces, Rick. The one on the right is the same variation like this one from my collection, Nr 105.120
    11. Lowest observed for this variation is 84.323. Here is mine, Nr. 114.937 also with a "7" makers mark, but a smaller one than on yours. Could you show me the reverse of the ones above?
    12. Great pictures, Christophe Do you know, who the german representative was? Gerd
    13. Great Stuff Gentlemen WC, i haven?t seen one of the Prussian Merit Crosses with Crown for quite a while. Does anyone has information, how many MC?s with Crown were awarded? The Orders of the Holy Michael are very impressive. Just the blue enamel!
    14. Nice one, Rick. And in beautiful condition too Keep me in mind, if you ever want to sell it. Gerd
    15. Ah, sure, WW1-Service. Now its getting closer to 25 years Thanks, Rick
    16. What a fantastic group VERY nice, thanks for sharing
    17. Very interesting thread, gentlemen. Did the servicetime count double in wartime also for the RAD? I see no other way to get a 25 year service award in an organisation, which was formed only in 1931!? Gerd
    18. There are so many variations, Eric I have 8 Red Banners now. One screwback and 7 on suspension.
    19. This came in last week from our Stogieman. Thanks, Rick, lovely piece
    20. Super-nice group, Dave Whats that badge for? Looks to be of older quality. When you have a bit time, i really would appreciate, if you could post some closeups of the ORB?s. Thanks for posting this nice group here Gerd
