From several of my photo albums. Enjoy. Clank clank. Vickers '89's and some sort of tankette; Carden-Lloyd maybe. Some of these things had asbestos lining.
Forgot about this one. KIA next of kin. Kanji reads "Spring 1943" with reference to the year in "Showa" reckoning. I believe these were applied for at a shrine (Yasukuini?), and came with monetary compensation?
Suggestion: Rectangular piece of plexiglas, heat and bend (or cut, mitered and screwed back together) to a 50-60 degree angle. If you like the wood, use some strips to frame the plexi. ...rough idea:
Coming along nicely... I'm building it from parts. Just in: company officer grade blue-brown knot. It still needs an appropriate blade (mune?), and then I'll insert the correct wooden mekugi instead of the makeshift steel pin I'm using now. Thanks for looking.
Thank you for the compliments. Swords on the old-style MVO's were purchased separately. Sort of "Ottoman-looking" aren't they? This set came with the cross beneath it and it still has its retaining lug.
