    1. Hi Nice ribbon bars. It is strange to see on the first one, that the two first ribbons are smaller than the others. it's not too common to see About the second one, a very nice Thuringian ribbon bar. I like to see Ernestine ribbon and Saxe Weimar ribbon. This bar is probably an NCO ribbon bar. Congrats Christophe Here is a new one I have not shown yet Christophe
    2. Hi Nice bar. The first one is not necessary for the EK2, it might be the Crown Order 4th class with swords or the Red Eagle Order 4th class with swords. Of course it can be possible if only it is an officer bar. Christophe
    3. Hi Very nice ribbon bars. On the first one the Third ribbon is for which medal ? as it is paler than the others I can't recognise it. The first one is for an enlisted man or junior NCO during the war (there is only the saxon Friedrich August medal, probably in bronze). The second ribbon bar is for a junior officer from Bade. Congrats Christophe

    9. Hello, When this cross ws create in 1815 it was for civil and there is only 3 classes GrandCross, Commandeur cross and Ritterkreuz. and in 1866 the cross can be awarded with swords. Then there is still one class of Ritterkreuz. In the old Rangliste the name of Verdienstkreuz Ritter is name VRmKD. After all amendment in 1876 appeared a second class of the Verdienstkreuz VRmKD = Verdienst Ritterkreuz mit Kriegsdekoration (mit Schwertern) SV3X = Sachsische Verdienstorden mit Schwertern Same cross and two differents abbreviations On the photo he wore the VRmKD, EK2 1870 and commemorative medal for war 1870-71. Too bad that there is no claps on it to know exactly where he fought. Christophe
