    1. Dear All, I would appreciate any information about Georg Ernst Müller Kranefeldt. He was born in 1859, died 19139. I know he was with Jager Regiment zu Pferde Nr 5. I hope to have a picture of him within few days (will share then!). Kind regards, Marcin
    2. Would you please tell us more about obtaining such files? Is it necessary to prove any relations with a person we are researching? Any fees involved? Thanks!
    3. Hi Andy, Great photo, indeed! I think that it covers more historical information about German officers, than any other I've seen before. Kind regards, Marcin
    4. Well, how do you know? :-) I'd like to know how to research such details, that's why I am asking.
    5. Thank you, Dave. That's what I was also looking for, a regiment. Does anyone have the regimental history of IR134? Or any idea how he died in 1914 (natural reasons, or War, maybe?). Regards! Marcin
    6. Hi. I have new arrival just in front of me. Below is a scan. I think it should be identifiable but of course I need your help here :-) Kind regards! Marcin
    7. Green cover of the Militarpass is always (?) related to Jagers. Having more than 100 passes now, I have never seen such "Maschinengewehrtruppen" cover. Very nice, indeed!
    8. Dear All, I have few aerial photographs like shown below. Do you think it is possible to tell who exactly was an observer and a pilot of a plane that took below pictures? That would be so nice. Thanks and regards, Marcin
    9. Here is mine. I have no idea what's the name/model. But still, looks huge. (click to enlarge please)
    10. Very nice and helpful thread, thanks! I don't own any postcards myself, yet, however I have found this interesting collection online: http://www.flickr.com/photos/patriotic-ww1/sets/72157633377508473/ Regards, Marcin
    11. I just picked up mine from the post office. It is just great. Big format, fine pictures and interesting descriptions. Must have. Regards, Marcin
    12. I have sent them an email regarding translation of the books. I think that it should not be an exceptional effort to have it done as like you said- there isn't much text that would require special knowledge. Kind regards! Marcin
    13. Dear All, Thank you for your help. I am creating the list of such books and will place it on my website soon. I have two questions: - is there any book that would describe all or most of German awards until 1918? It would be nice to have it in English. I have Neville's Medal Ribbons and Orders... but I am not sure if it covers all awards. - second - I have birthday today (30!), what would you recommend to buy as a gift up to EUR150? It can be related to uniforms / awards or documents/pictures. I am thinking about http://www.militaria.at/Book.aspx?book=11916800&Language=de . It should be in English, I don't know German yet. Regards! Marcin
    14. Dave, I think this article is no longer copyrighted. Do you have it in .doc file? We could translate it into English then. Regards, Marcin
    15. Great awards, Dante. Do you know what is the meaning of the date on each award? Is that the year of the contest or a Jahreclasse? Regards, Marcin
    16. That is true, but at the same time google is very helpful to direct you to right place. Like this: http://www.vlib.us/wwi/resources/germanarmywwi.pdf http://2chevauleger.org/Resources/Histories%20of%20251%20Divisions.pdf Regards, Marcin
    17. There are two issues available online (51 and 53). In this 53 (dated 1992), page 14, we can see "Questions Corner" and "From Chip Minx". Very nice! :-)
