    1. Beautiful! I love the top one in the middle.
    2. I think I've found an answer. It could be two wound badges for minor wounds (I think that's the right translation). I actually got this answer from mister Bjeloš himself on facebook.
    3. Here's another group of photos dedicated to women. Unknown Medical Captain Desa Karanović, the manager of ambulance in 4th Montenegrin brigade. Photo from 1944. Jelka Bulajić and Dragica Kačar, 3rd Krajiška brigade. Josipa Židanik People's Hero Albinca Malijeva Neda Božinović, notice the rare Soviet made Brotherhood and Unity order. Unknown Lieutenant
    4. We can only guess unfortunately. That ribbon is a puzzle for me too. I will do some research and hopefully come up with an answer.
    5. Interesting...The book does not mention this type. I may be wrong but the badge with white enamel looks smaller. Also, I think that Drapšin and Šegrt are wearing the badges without enamel because I see a small bright spot which seems like a Yugoslav tricolor.
    6. Very nice Paja! I really like the Order of Merit's for the People because of it's low number.
    7. Such a simple but great looking design. Congrats on your newest addition!
    8. Nice photos! I've found a photo of Vlado Šegrt on the internet and was going to post it eventually. It looks like him! I took a quick look concerning the general's hat badge in the "Partizanska vojska i Jugoslavenska Armija 1941-1953" book. It's actually not white enamel but looks like this. It's a general's hat badge which was introduced in the second half of 1944 which goes by the date of your photo. Badge is in possession of a fellow collector Nenad Bjeloš, one of many who had contributed in making of this book. I belive they are currently working on the second book concerning badges, uniforms, insignia etc. from 1953 to 1992. The first book concentrates on the same matter but in the 41-53 period.
    9. No problem! I'll try to post better photos soon.
    10. Thanks for pointing out the rank progression. I also have a piece of newspaper about a fire in a neighbourhood of Zagreb where the soldiers of Yugoslav People's Army helped in firefighting. My grandpa was an officer on duty (captain at the time) that day so he gave the shortest interview I've ever seen in a newspaper. "Dobri su to momci!/Those are good chaps!" he said. Unfotunately I don't know the year when this happend so there's a gap between Lieutenant and Captain 1st class, year-wise. I had also never seen stamps on the back sides of the documents except for my grandpa's. Very nice group Paja! Can you show the documents also?
    11. Let's see your documented groups of the Socialist Yugoslavia. Here's a group of my grandpa's awards with miniatures and documents. I've already posted his awards but I've never posted his documents. Funny story is that there's a Commemorative Medal for 20 Years of Yugoslav People's Army on his miniature bar but he never received that medal since he was at the academy at the time the medal was awarded in 1961. He also got a Tito plaque when he retired but unfortunately the document is lost. List of awards by the year: 1967 - Order of Military Merit with Silver Swords 1971 - Commemorative Medal for 30 years of Yugoslav People's Army 1974 - Order of People's Army with Silver Star 1975 - Commemorative Medal for 30 years of Victory over Fascism 1979 - Order of Military Merit with Golden Swords 1981 - Commemorative Medal for 40 years of Yugoslav People's Army 1985 - Order of People's Army with Golden Star All of the awards were awarded on December 22nd. It was the day of the Yugoslav People's Army. Additional award is Distinguished Marksman Medal. There are stamps that confirm the purchase of miniature medals at the back of every document. Another group which I have is a civil one and it was awarded to doctor Knežević. List of awards by year: 1966 - Order of Labour with Golden Wreath 1972 - Order of People's Merit with Silver Rays
    12. Here is my modest collection. Unfortunately the weather is awful today and the light was terrible so I had to take a photo from a weird angle for it to look barely decent.
    13. As the title says, I will be posting photos of Socialist Yugoslavia Medals and Orders in wear every now and then. In the first post I will post some of my favourite photos. The first photo is in my possession and it's a photo of my grandpa's uncle. All of the next photos are from the internet. Notice the Polish Partisan Cross. Major Dušan Filipović, 4th Sandžak brigade. People's Hero Ivan Šibl. Miloš Šiljegović with the youngest courier from the brigade, Nikola Zvijerac (11th Kozara Krajiška Brigade). Marko Lucić, Captain of Braća Radić brigade. Milan Tankosić, Major of Marko Orešković batallion. Photo taken in Belgrade, April 8th, 1945. Miloš Milikić "Mido", the youngest Partisan Captain (19 years), later Colonel. Notice the pilot badge and a Polish Partisan Cross. People's Hero Jozo Lozovina "Mosor". People's Hero Katarina Patrnogić People's Hero Petar Drapšin People's Hero Stevo Rauš, Commander of 1st Krajiška brigade. Photo taken in Ribnik near Ključ, 1944. People's Hero Stane Semič "Daki". Notice the Soviet Order of the Red Banner. People's Hero Stevo Došen, Commander of Matija Gubec brigade. Headquaters of Braća Radić brigade Many more to come...
    14. Beautiful story indeed! That bread must have been hard as a rock since it didn't break during combat. It must have been a real pain to carry it around for eight years, not to mention the combat.
    15. Great collection and topic Paja! I have few pins and a badge. I'll post the photos soon.
    16. Hello! The fakes exist, although I'm not sure what to think about your piece. Paja should reply very soon and he will be able to tell you more about it.
    17. I know it was not a critique but just a remark. Thanks for finding the year of the award for Ali Šukrija. Unfortunately, somehow I'm not able to edit my first post, so I can't add Ali Šukrija to 1985 list or recipients.
    18. Great photos Paja! I've seen some sources that claim different years for the awards so I took these years from one source that seemed the most complete.
    19. Thanks for the info! Very interesting and great looking piece of history!
