    1. Thanks fellas. I should be able to post an image of the barrel in a couple of days or so.
    2. A 4th Class Prussian Order of the Crown with swords, unmarked.
    3. No markings. I have tried to unscrew the swords, they are tightly fixed into place and I am loathe to put to much pressure on them, definitely not soldered on though. Yours looks a beauty and a PLM as well (is it a Godet?).
    4. A 2nd Class Prussian Order of the Crown with swords. Opinions welcomed:
    5. Well done, keep chipping away at building that collection of yours.
    6. Will be ok to drink out of then?
    7. Have you tried a UV test on it?
    8. Hope this helps: http://medalirus.ru/georgievskie-kresty/gk-1917-lavrovaya-vetka.php
    9. Luigi, it has all the characteristics of an official medal. I think you are ok with this one.
    10. The zinc-alloy(Kriegsmetall) medals I believe are slightly thicker(3mm) than the bronze ones which were about 2.5mm thick. Greg, how many stripes(if any) does yours have on its ribbon?
    11. Very nice. The wound medals were mostly made of zinc-alloy, but also bronze with a gray wash and aluminium.
    12. I believe they came in 2 sizes. The larger is about 22mm x 28.5mm. The one shown here is the smaller size.
    13. Another worn in reverse: http://www.josefkolbe.com/awards/karl-troop-cross
    14. I think the distinctive mark was on the zinc medals only.
    15. Marcus66, Nice, with the yellow peace ribbon.
    16. Thanks Elmar. Yes, the Ludwigstorff-Ortner books are excellent. I have the English version Part 1 but have yet to acquire Parts 2 and 3.
    17. Interesting, would be great to find out whether this was the practice of some of the Austro-Hungarian military.
    18. Nice pieces and still can be purchased at reasonable prices.
    19. Duncan, what is written on the reverse of the medal, cannot quite make it out from the picture.
    20. Looks similar to: 1914 1916 WW1 French 37mm silver medal by Lagrange agriculture antique sower - the reverse is different though. There is one here on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254998941474
