Was cleaning out my closets looking the the rest of the Polish items I have yet to sell and pulled out all my Finnish tunics. Some have trousers and breeches and most have caps though they're in a box. I thought I'd share for those who like Finnish militaria. I'm very fond of the Finnish Winter War and Continuation War. The Finns fight hard there is not doubt.

Wow, so if I find a Hessen Pickelhaube without its spike it may have been removed it may have been by the soldier himself. Any known photos of this unit at Verdun and without their spikes?- 48 replies

Yes, that's why I'm so proud to own this IR116 uniform. Hessen helmet under the cover. The cover is a little loose so I'd love to find a smaller one. This regiment and the Corp is belonged fought well- 48 replies

Honestly, I feel the best unit would be the one that the German I command or the local army commanders would use for assaults and for breakthroughs by enemy forces. My original intention starting this thread was to get as much information on the battle record of the Seebataillon as possible. So far not much luck... like so many other attempts. Turns out all that come about was a fireball I think IR 115 and 116 did well.- 48 replies

Actually just hoping someone could help me find some good information in English about their wartime efforts. Heck, it's sparse... And, I have yet to learn whether or not a seebatalion officer would have earned Turkish war medal. that old raggedy uniform looks okay- 48 replies

Can a brother get some data on the Seebataillon during the war? I'm about to throw the set in the dumpster. There's not much of any value. I have seen photos of a few officers wearing either the HHO or the Crown order in the button hole.- 48 replies

No amount of common since can affect my sound and unwavering decision to opine that the Naval Infanterie were superior. So superior in fact that the Allies seldom dared to attack the Naval Infanterie's sector. Oh, I said it... ;-/- 48 replies

Oh Chip, that's the oldest trick in the book. I'm like many young Americans now days whereby facts, evidence, proof, etc., have nothing to do with my reality. And I see no factual evidence that disproves my claim so far... Bwahahaha... Actually, if hard to find anything of value relating to this topic in English. That why I started the thread with the title as most people seem to pass of the subject.- 48 replies
