    1. it seems that it is harder than i guessed at the beginning - so, one more info about whats inside: the ribbon of it has only one color (no stripes, dots or something else - just plain in one color) christian
    2. oh - it would be so nice if one of the named decorations would be in this case - but it isn't. its a medal, but not attached to an order and no friedrich august medal ... christian
    3. no, its not prussian - have a look at the bottom of the case (hope it hepls a little more)
    4. ok, now a case i have in my collection (the best one i have - as battleclasps are not cased, so i don't have that many cases ...) measurements are 80 * 60 * 30 mm (hope its not too easy for you guys) christian
    5. looking at this pic, i'd say that it is an austrian soldier (probably aritillery). i'm also not 100% sure what the medal on the trifold ribbon is, but the badge on the other side of his breast i've never seen before (at least didn't realized it). hope you can help me bringing light into darkness and enjoy the pic as well. christian
    6. nice bar! but the hessen decoration is mounted on the wrong ribbon. the ribbon on the bar is for the hessen bravery medal. the correct ribbon for the milit?r-sanit?tskreuz from hessen is the following one. its a kind of redish and with silver wire on both borders (the pic shows a ribbon which is mounted on a bar, so only half of it is visible). christian
    7. thanks a lot for the info to all! now i know what i have to get as well christian
    8. ok, here is one more medalbar - 100% prussian soldier, but was doing the right thing, at the right time at the right place. its from a friend of mine who asked, if there is an id possibility (don't have a reverse pic) anyway, hope you like it. christian
    9. i don't really know where to put this question, but as id papers/dogtags will be the "easiest" thing to research, i guess, it might fit in here. how do they look like and what kind of data do they content? are there something similar like a dogtag and a wehrpass on the german side or totally different? thanks a lot for the help. christian
    10. while doing a little research, i got "stuck a little" as i can't find any useable info on the Hoch und Deutschmeister during 43/44. i know they where located in italy - but sadly thats it. the farest going info was, that the guy im researching went to a war-hospital which was in neapel. (thought i'm intelligent and i buy a book about that unit - in total its the best idea i guess - but after ordering, i got a reply that they are on holiday until the end of the month and can do the transaction first after the end of the month - and now i'm sitting at home waiting for the book - weather is bad ... - hell) so if someone can help me, i would be very happy! thanks a lot christian ps: if you need correct data or so, just let me know and i'll post them.
    11. hy dave, thanks - and sure, it helped a lot as before they where "only" us-buttons to me. christian
    12. got a few buttons - and those where between. does anyone know for what kind of uniform these are used? thanks a lot in advance christian
    13. what do you think about this pin? i was told it is a Lebensborn pin which isn't very common - but i guess, you know more than i do. front:
    14. does anyone have an original one to show (as i'm interested how thick the original one is) and if there are only miner or no differences are between the good and the bad one. christian
    15. after i got a lot of help the last time when i asked it on a pair of shoulderboards, i have another pair in question (what is it?) its not really my field - all i can say, they are beautifully made and look nice - sadly thats it christian
    16. a friend of mine gave me this badge as he wants to sell it but doesn't know what it is - so he's not sure at what type of badge he can offer it. as i don't know it myself (and thought about the pin attachement) that it might be us made, i'll post it over here, and hope that someone can help my friend (and me for sure as well) out. thanks a lot in advance christian
    17. really interesting thread! but i have a question now - does anyone know, how many different markers where producing these reichskolonialbund membership badges? and, does someone have a picture of one in wear? thanks much in advance christian
    18. really interesting how the time change the look of the decorations! but i have a questions on the grouping of mr. kersten herman - in germany you can find on the graveyards or near the church a big plaquete which shows the name of the fallen soldiers of the first and later of the second worldwar. is it the same in belgium? and if so, what they made in his hometown? (i know, a little strange question - but it would be really interesting how they handled it!) christian
    19. thanks a lot to all of you for your help! will do my best, and when i get the info on the order, i'll post it on the forum! thanks again from a novice in this field christian
    20. the wreath should normally be only on the ribbonbar - to differ between the silver medal (nothing beside the ribbon) and the golden one with a small golden wreath on the ribbon. if the wreath is enameld it would be for the miliary merit order. hope i was able to help a bit christian found a link with ribbonbars having the enameld wreath on for the order: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3415...rttemberg+order
    21. i was able to get this nice conditioned decoration with the mail today. now i'm interested, how i can order the awardees data from the russian archive. (or isn't it "worth" to research?) and is it possible to say anything by the number at the moment? thanks a lot for any kind of help christian
