    1. Great info, Alex. Does it also mentions the date 04.06.1916 and maybe a hint why he got the EK2 at that time or any possible reasons for the other awards he got? I would also like to know why he suddenly goes into a staff-position in September 1917. Was he unfit for active-flying duty from then, did he maybe have an accident?
    2. Nice picture, a cousin of my greatgrandfather actually flew #835, of the FF33E.
    3. Ah, I see thanks for that :-) You would not happen to also have a picture of the Commandeur of the FB during the mobilisation of 1830-32? (a)
    4. Great Dave, thanks! What I regularly do is just check googlebooks for anything new on the MvM or just M surname and see what I can find. It is, to some extend, a reall treasure.
    5. Hi up to now, I have the Versetzung of Louis Alfred Carl Oscar MvM as Adjudant of the 4th Garde-Infanterie-Brigade at the same date as his promotion to Hauptmann, 20.07.1912. However, today I found on the googlebooks site the Militär-Wochenblatt of 1911, in which his Versetzung is already mentioned on page ccclxxxi. This book is not in full view here (NL), so I am hoping someone is able/willing to check the page and tell me the date of this occassion. Thanks alot David
    6. I could only help on the history of the order not on the difference in its medaillons
    7. Yeah I know, my grandfathers brother was not named Hermann George for no reason. Familysaga has it his grandfather (b. 1857) really hated the prussians for invading his country
    8. Thank you both, gentlemen! Funny thing is hat my grandfather (b. 1920 d.2000) was Ernst August Müldner. So maybe, just maybe he was named after this relation. Info was great and very quick as always! Regards David
    9. Hi, in 1915 there is a mentioning of Oblt Ernst Wiehr. Would it be possible to find out more about this officer? My interest in him is that he is a relation through the maternal grandmother of my grandfather. Yeah I know its a bit far off, but well genealogy let me to my interest in ODM to begin with :-) thanks in advance regards David
    10. Hi...again About the Nimmergut biblopgraphy series: is there anyone who owns: Bibliographie zur deutschen Phaleristik. Übersicht über das gesamte Schrifttum zu deutschen Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 31.12.2007. and can tell me if there is a list of literature on the hessen-cassel odm as well? I would be really interested to get a copy of that article. Thanks sooo much in advance. Have a great week David Interested in where all these questions and information is all going? Please check out my blog at davidmueldner.wordpress.com or just ask me for a proofreading chapter via a PM.
    11. Hi I am looking for an issue of the 1979 Orden Militaria Magazine. In it, there should be an article on the hessen-cassel house order of the golden lion knights cross with swords I am really interested in getting my hands on...anyone out there owns a copy...? all the best David
    12. I wonder why googlebooks has so many books which cannot be viewed in fulltext....from e.g. 1882....why bother putting the title of the book up in the first place Der Königlich Bayerische Militär-Max-Joseph-Orden und seine Mitglieder is such a book. I have quite a few gents I would like to know when they got the MMJO. I hope the fulldates are in the book...and I hope someone here does have access and is willing to share....please PM me. All the best David
    13. In my ongoing search for pictures of the (knights of) kurhessian odm, I found this one. He is suppose to be a bavarian GM, but I cannot figure out why there are so many anchors on his uniform...bavaria was not really a seaside nation, right? http://malerei19jh.museum-kassel.de/show.html?id=30431 The ODM on the picture are: BayPfLO (neck and star) PJO (neck and top star) BCKO (star) CHGL (sash and star) The description underneath the portrait has many errors concerning the ODM. But it is no the only one in the online katalog with such errors: https://davidmueldner.wordpress.com/2014/03/08/other-kind-of-findings/ So my question: what kind of uniform is he wearing? hope you can help me out here all the best David
    14. Second try. I found this regimental history and I am hoping anyone of my forumites has a copy. Its on books.google.de but I cannot find a full-read. Maybe one of you can. I am looking for the entry of Carl Schwarz Thanks a lot David
    15. Hi I would like to find out more on the career of the kgl. hann. Rittmeister in the Regiment Kronprinz: Schwarz it might be in the book by Debisch but I cannot find one via googlebooks. I hope someone will be able to help me out here all the best for the coming easter-weekend! Please enjoy it with your loved ones David
    16. Thanks Dave in most lists I use as sources for the biographical entries for my book, commemorative medals are not listed. I think I will have no other option as to mention this in the preface. Sorry to see the CHLO has become a GHgL, referring to the grandducal hessians rather than the churhessians he originally got it from. Its no suprise though, I knew the order was taken over by the other hessians :-)
    17. Hi I know this might be a long shot....but I am searching for an overview of the ODM of Friedrich III Wilhelm Nikolaus von Preussen (Emperor Frederick). I know he probably got everything, but I would just like to know if there is an overview somewhere preferably but not necessarily with dates. Its for my book on the House Order of the Golden Lion I am preparing. Interested in the progress of my projects? Please check my website davidmueldner.wordpress.com Have a great sunday regards David
    18. Sucha beautiful piece, Lars is there any kind of literature on the EA-order?
    19. Hi Dave thanks that's great! I will add it to his biographical entry in my book to come :-) all the best David
