    1. Hello I have just returned from a trip to Riga. I bought these items very cheap, from a street vendor. I wonder if anyone can tell me what they are, and if it's just something made for tourists. Thank's in advance. All the best Snoopy
    2. I really hope that you can succesfully remove the felt marker, because it's a very nice helmet. All the best Snoopy

Hi Lorenzo Thank you very much, for the kind words. All the best Snoopy
    5. With silver paint. If anyone has anymore information about these buttons, I would be grateful. Snoopy
    6. Hi Perce Thank's for the reply. Yes, they are maker marked. The manufacturer is "A & S". I seem to remember that I have seen other german military buttons, from this manufacturer. All the best Snoopy
    7. I bought a few buttons at a flea market this weekend. I bought them because they cost allmost nothing. I know nothing about these buttons, other than that they are dated 1941. There are two sizes. the smaller ones are marked on the reverse. and they are silver, looks allmost like unpainted metal. The larger buttons are painted in a light brown paint. They are unmarked. Can anyone tell me if they are Kriegsmarine, merchant navy or something else. I have only photos of the smaller ones at the moment, but I can take photos of the larger buttons, if desired. I would appreciate your help. All the best Snoopy
    8. The ventral hatch. This was the hatch, the Kaiten pilot used to enter the Kaiten, from the mother submarine.
    9. Conning tower. Still some sanding, to get rid of the scratches.
    10. The exterior will be finished in styrene plastic, and the details will be made from brass and styrene. It was very difficult to find the correct measurements for the torpedo, and finding good drawings, was impossible. The only drawings that I could find, was some very ruff intelligence drawings, made from captured Kaitens. I have just finished detailing the conning tower, and ventral hatch. Thank you very much for the links. They are great. I find it interesting that this weapon, was not intended as a pure suicide weapon. The upper hatch was intended as an escape hatch, but there are no record of anyone escaping from a Kaiten. If anyone has any information, photos or anything related to the Kaiten, please feel free to post them in this thread. All the best Snoopy
    11. Hi Lorenzo Thank's for the kind words. No, it's not a kit. It's built from my own plans. All the best Snoopy
    12. They look more like silver, or unpainted metal. Could they belong to a Kriegsmarine beamter tunic? Snoopy
    13. Hi Eddie I have used photos of the preserved Kaiten at Pearl Harbour, to create my drawings. I believe that it's a Type 4, which I understand is very similar to the Type 2. All the best Snoopy
    14. In this wiew, you can see the prominent weald seams.
    15. The model is being covered with panels, of styrene plastic.
    16. My current project, is scratch building a japanese Kaiten suicide torpedo. I had to create my own plans for this project. The torpedo is 40 centimeters in length. I will post more photos, about the progress of the model. Snoopy Skeleton made from plywood.
    17. Hi I need help with some buttons, that I found at a flea market today. The seller believed that they where fairly new, but I noticed the markings on the reverse, and what appears to be a year of manufacture. I don't know a lot about buttons, but I took a chance, since they cost allmost nothing. The buttons are silver in colour, and not gold. I would appreciate any help. All the best Snoopy
    18. Hello Gordon Superb model. Snoopy
