    1. "Now looking for a 1939 model!" Then what you're looking for is this!
    2. The die characteristics of the "L/58" don't match those of wartime Souvals.
    3. I've heard for years about the RKs that were supposedly assembled in Britain with the dies from Steinhauer & Luck, but I have never seen pictures of any! Can anybody post pics of this legendary post-war RK?
    4. Can you find out if there's an "E. Finke" in Berlin today? I know it's a long shot, but....
    5. All I can say is that its obverse die characteristics match those of this example, a magnetic, one-piece, vaulted pinback with no marks whatsoever.
    6. I don't know about the inscription either, but I have two "S-W" EK 1s. One has a "1" on the underside of the pin near the hinge, and the other has a "3" in that same spot.
    7. (As a qualifier, though, I must point out that the small ribbon ring on this EK 2 is open, so it is possible that an Imperial ring got put onto the cross by someone other than the manufacturer.)
    8. That's the first time I've seen an apparent Imperial mark on a 1939 EK 1. I have, however, seen an Imperial mark on a 1939 EK 2 -- specifically this example with the Sy Wagner "S-W" mark.
    9. Here's Schickle's EK 2, as presented in their catalog.
    10. I agree that the core looks very similar, especially the "3" in "1939." Alas, I have no Schickle EKs -- either First or Second Class -- to compare!
    11. Bill Garvy, How do the die characteristics of this "L/15" EK 2 compare with those of your First Class examples?
