    1. Worn post Independence style with the Indian Independence medal coming first. Are the other medals named, usually when awarded Indian recipients they were named (those units which went to Pakistan were unnamed). As to finding replacement medals both the Indian Independence and the 1939-45 star are feely available at under £30 the pair. Paul
    2. It's a Thai souvenir medal based on the 10 satang coin of King Bhumifhol Adulyadej issued in 1957 probably produced for the tourist trade. Paul
    3. Very nice and most appreciated as was the most interesting Bulgarian selection Paul
    4. Very nice that the original case of issue has survived. Paul
    5. If genuine it is some kind of sporting event but I must confess I am always suspicious of these early PRC pieces. Paul
    6. Lettering and crude portrait had any one in the Royal Mint produced anything of that quality their vocal range would have gone up at least an octave. Paul
    7. They are certainly introducing a new coinage head but in the next year or so but whether they will change the medal heads I do not know. Paul
    8. Lambert it is a Japanese society badge. I have looked through several publications relating to these but I have not been able to trace this particular badge. If you PM me I will give you my E-mail address and I am sure if you send the image to me a good friend of mine will be able to identify it. All the best, Paul
    9. Can't see anything problematic about it. Paul

    11. Looks double-struck rather than re-cut. Paul
    12. A similar small gold Zeal will be coming up for auction on July 11th will post price. The cased Eduard is nice £400 without case £600-800 with case. All the best, Paul
    13. The Jammu and Kashmir Medal for the Defence of Chitral is frequently copied, there are two basic types , the one made by Gurney and Co and also locally made pieces, both can be named and are quite sought after. I have a named locally made piece. Paul
    14. Afghanistan Order of the Sirdar, not sure of the class off hand. Paul
    15. Very Nice, It is from Bahawalpur an Indian Princely state now in Pakistan. It is the Kot Sabzal medal issued for the campaign in the North West Frontier from 1930-31 in which Bahawalpur IS forces were heavily involved. The reverse is most attractive. Quite a few of these are named on the rim. Is yours named. I have been after one for a while. All the best, Paul
    16. You are right, It is possible they are reduced size badges denoting higher grades. Paul
    17. Lambert, Thank you so much, I suspect his Aviz would be more like this Paul
    18. I would have thought bent coppers would be of interest (literally and metaphorically) Paul
    19. Nice one Lambert can you give details of all his awards in the picture? Paul
    20. Well you've got the forfeit VCs, always popular. Daniels for taking undue liberties with junior officers (according to Churchill that was one of the traditions of the Navy (along with rum and the lash)). Collis for bigamy (surely one wife is enough he should have received a bar for the VC rather forfeiting it). The others are generally for theft. Paul
    21. Nick what I meant by variety is that is of a slightly different style to the piece illustrated in P&B. Paul
    22. Depends what they are dismissed for. Certainly not avoided and can be quite interesting, there has always been a market for the bad boys. Paul
    23. I wouldn't say that. I find that a couple of Wray and Nephews can revitalise my identifying powers. Paul
    24. The badge is a Veterinarians badge a variety of Patrikeev, Bodjnovich 1.1.40 Paul
    25. One of the most beautiful Orders ever designed in my humble opinion. Paul
