Brazilian medals display

It is interresting because I have one that belonged to a colombian Pilot, an later Comanding Officer of the colombian Airforce. He was on a training in the flying base of "El Palomar". When he finished the trainig after 4 years he was awarded with the Badge. And in the web I once read that it was very common in the 20ies and 30ies to send pilots from all over South America to traings in Argentina . Probably because the had the best Airforce (in South America) at that time. -

Austria-Hungary Edelweiss division 1st class...
Viribus Unitis replied to Chris Boonzaier's topic in Austro-Hungarian Empire
Well the austrian NCO bravery System was the Following: Goldene Tapferkeitsmedaille Silberne Tapferkeitsmedaille 1. Klasse Silberne Tapferkeitsmedaille 2. Klasse Bronzene Tapferkeitsmedaille So it is Probable that an EK 2 would range as a Siler Bravery Medal 2nd class. But the Germans awarded the EK just to officers and never to NCOs. Instead the Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen. -
German WW1 Vets that Fight in WW2 as Americans
Viribus Unitis replied to Paul R's topic in United States of America
I don't think he got the EK 2 because he was an NCO. The EK2 was only awarded to Officers, the NCO got the Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen. BUt on the picture you see him wearing either the Golden or the Big Silver Bravery Medal, the small silver and the bronze one. Which if you add the KTK and probably the Wounded Medal is close to what a NCO could get as awards. -

As far as I know there were polish who fought in WWI in the Austro-hungarian Army and later on fought under the British. The most prominent was General Stanisław Sosabowski. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanis%C5%82aw_Sosabowski http://www.sosabowski.com/generalcv.html http://js2031.y0.pl/sosabowski.html -
Austria-Hungary Help with Hungarian ribbon
Viribus Unitis replied to Riley1965's topic in Austro-Hungarian Empire
This is Hungarian Peoples Republic "Youth Medal of Merit ". But I have no image of the Decoration -
I am sorry to say that, but you are all wrong This is a bogde of a Non Govermental Organisation: SCADTA Sociedad Colombo Alemana de Transporte A?reo (Colombo-German Air Transport Society) It is probably a Pilots Badge, for those who made their pilots exam and were in the service of The SCADTA. That is what I found in the web. http://scadta.org/ http://web.me.com/scadta/Scadta-Fluggesell...Willkommen.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCADTA http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=true I guess its not much but I certainly solved the mystery and for this I shod be awarded with the badge If you want to sell it, just write me a message

Austria-Hungary Austrian Military Sports Badge 1934
Viribus Unitis replied to a topic in Austro-Hungarian Empire
It is the Wehrabzeichen (or Schutzkorpsabzeichen) of the Christlich deutsche Turnerschaft ?sterreichs, and it was somehow awarded for taking part in the battles of 1934 (February and July). -
You can find this bagdes very often, and they were made for all kind of meetings. The Heimatschutz was not Part of the VF, it was an idependent Organisation founded in the 20ies. In 1936 all paramilitaric Organisations were prohibited and the Haeimatschutz became part of the Frontmiliz, wich was part of the VF
