Hi All, This is a bit of a round about question, but rather than just post something in the classifieds, I thought I would check what sort of interest is out there with respect to Selous Scouts items. I collected heavily to the unit, but have not done much with it for several years. Instead, I am collecting to my own regiment. So, is there much interest out there for people wanting items? Cheers, James

I'm finding this post well after it was discussed here. I happened across it as I was curious about this award being given to Pte. Cochran. I am a former Patricia and volunteer at the Regimental Museum. I have been asked about this by visitors, but as I am at the museum when the archivists are not, I've not had the chance to talk to them about it. There is mention, here in this thread, about a telegram with mention to this incident. Does anyone have this that it can be displayed?

Chris, I have seen these things go all over the board. I've seen the numbered/unissued wings go for $50-$450.00. I know of a set of numbered wings that were issued to the Boss, which went for over $5900.00US. Depending on how fast you want to sell them and how low the number is, will determine a good starting point for an asking price. Cheers, James

Hello all, Woud it be a safe guess to say this is a Deumer Minesweeper Badge? It's a heavy badge that appears to be made of copper?? Cheers, James -

Hi Gordon, Thank you very much for your reply! Here is a shot of the badge. I was pleased to find that there were actually two badges and both in the same mint condition! Cheers, James -
I have been offered a mint GWL Para Badge, as well as several other items. I've not collected German Militaria for quite some time and am out of the loop on prices. Could someone tell me. please, what the going price for one of these badges? Cheers, James

Question, Rhodeisan Mess Jacket
JamesM replied to Robert L.'s topic in Great Britain: Militaria: Badges, Uniforms & Equipment
Hi Robert, Do you happen to have a photo? Cheers, James -
That could have explained my grandfather’s hearing loss. Both my grandparents were in that location on the day of the explosion. My grandfather was on board ship, on duty, moored with other naval ships when the explosion happened. He was thrown some 20 feet in the air and landed on the railing of the ship he was on. It was a 50/50 chance of falling on deck or into the water between his and the ship next to his. Luck had him fall on the deck, as had he hit the water, the two ships smashed against each other where he would have been crushed.
