    1. Thank you for posting this great story. They do not make many like him anymore.
    2. Hi Bob, Those EOD badges are really sharp. Heavy US influence is evident. I hope that you are well! paul
    3. Hi, Yes, those are the issues I have. I do not know enough to say that the number has been messed with or replaced onto the original order, but I have not seen another number applied in this manner. Regards Paul
    4. I have never seen a number inscribed like that... I would be leary. Lets see what others think.
    5. I have them posted in the uniforms section. :- ) Are you on facebook? I have a photo folder with them all there. If not, I can shoot you some links. I posted the tunics in early 2012 and late 2011.
    6. Stunning hat there! I have never seen such a marking. Is this a normal technique for this unit?
    7. Great job on finding the photos. Did you do this just from a basic on line search or are you a member of an Ancestory.com type database?
    8. Awesome grouping! Did the seller already part with the upper row of the larger medals?
    9. Those are some great photos! I love the fact that they are named and dated. Thank you for sharing them.
    10. This latest beauty is enroute to me now This one was flown at a unit where the Senior ranking Naval Officer in the Soviet Navy was present. I know that in the US Coast Guard, every unit has a flag for each of the flag officer(General/Admiral Ranks) in case of a visit. When an Admiral is on board of a unit, a special flag was flown to show that he is on board. There is a different flag for each Admiral Ranking, including the branch Commandant. This flag is for the highest rank of Soviet Admiral. I hope that you like it as much as I do.
    11. Thank you very much. I am very happy with it. It just arrived the other day. It is a small piece, maybe for a patrol craft?
    12. This is getting pretty exciting!!! Thank you for the update Sir!
    13. That would be cool. Do you think that these are most likely long service awards?
    14. Great point Chris... The government cannot even run a post office, so this project is a cl*ster-f*ck waiting to happen; however, the research potential will awesome!.
    15. When you say ALL, do you mean non valor related medals and decorations as well?
    16. That is one smoking photo. Congrats. I hope that you can find a name. I would love to know his story!
    17. Thanks George. Coast Guard stuff is very hard to find.
    18. I just received this awesome RG grouping. The triangle is the later, post 2000 version, with the green writing. The tan shoulder slides are also rather uncommon. I hope that you like them! Lets see your Republican Guard insignia and uniforms!
    19. Hi Sir, Basically the I am just theorizing. I do know that the bars have been together for a very long time due to matching patina and a slight hint of rust on the reverse of all parts, which include the prongs holding the stars. I know that he was at least doing overseas duty prior to Pearl Harbor(September 8, 1939 and December 7, 1941), served through WW2. The National Defense Service Medal with star states that he was on active duty during the Korean War (June 27, 1950 to July 27, 1954) and at least to the VietNam War(January 1, 1961 to August 14, 1974). I figured that since he had an African/European Campaign Medal that the most realistic possibility would be convoy duty, but as far as we all know, he could have participated in the Normandy landings. The Based upon the awards alone, there are 21 years of service. There are five good conduct medals(always every three years for the Coast Guard, which accound for about 15 years, which leave five or more years minimum to serve as a CWO prior to retiring. Since the insignia have him as a CWO4, I would bet that this was a 30 year veteran. I would have killed for a name... this all came from an estate sale.
