    1. Thanks Albert Anyone else? I found these, claimed to be LW Dress Gloves. Any opinions? Scott 1.
    2. Thanks Albert! Very nice . Are the wrist buttons maker marked on the backs? Scott
    3. I've this early LW NCO four-pocket tunic that I'd like to find an original pair of dress gloves for. I know they came in white and grey (I'd prefer the grey), but what separates original period gloves from post-war types? (materials, construction, markings, etc?). I'd love to see some original examples with opinions on what to look for. Thanks! Scott
    4. Nice cross. The outside corner ribbing design of your cross is usually attributed to Rudolf Souval, Wien. Scott
    5. Looking at AH's signature on that award document... looks like somebody bumped the the pantograph machine a couple of times - it's got a bit of a zig-zag thing going on. Scott

      One more GOLD!

Super nice cased cross. Those pictures are as close as I'll ever get to one
    7. I wonder if it's a giant birthmark on his head - his scalp is completely shaven otherwise. Regardless, he seems to have the full attention of his lady friend Scott
    8. Jon - superb find! If you haven't done so already, please post in the Spanish Civil War forum as well Scott
    9. And the driver. I used several parts from the other two kit figures to put this guy together. I wired up his ear phones and added a throat mic. Most of his uniform bit and bobs are separate pieces. I used oil paints for the face - first time I'd done that. I tinkered with this kit on-and-off for about 5 years. I tried lots of new techniques I'd read about in magazines. I learned much about the limits of my abilities from this kit Scott
    10. Interior with the deck still on. The six rounds under the turret floor are cast resin; I used the front-end of a 1/48 Sparrow missle as the master. The floor, drive shafts, and ammo bins are all scratch.
    11. The kit comes with a very basic interior. I decided to do it up right, and scratch built about 90% of the interior forward of the engine firewall. Here's a turret shot
    12. I built one of the old 1/25 Tamya Tiger Is several years back. It's a big model so you can add lots of detail. The kit is of an early production version, so I changed thigs around a bit to make it a mid-production version.
    13. Kevin - excellent theory! John - thanks for locating one of the numbers! I'll keep my fingers crossed for the other one. Scott
    14. My on-line search of SS service numbers found no match to those found on a 1933 SS ground Rohm dagger I have (photos in the German Dagger Forum). The number on the dagger cross-guard is 12326, and on the scabbard is 12329. I believe the last number on one of the parts was inverted in error, but I don't know which one . Does anyone out there in 'Research Land' have info on a person with either of these assigned service numbers? Thanks! Scott
    15. And of the upper lip of the scabbard...the numbers on the scabbard are the same size and font as the cross-guard
    16. I've had this Boker ground Rohm dagger for almost 20 years. Prior to buying it, I noticed the last digit of the serial number was a 6, while the last digit on the scabbard was a 9; I figured the person who stamped the numbers inverted the last one by mistake, so I wound up buying the dagger. Several months later, I wrote Tom Wittmann (pre-internet days) asking his opinion about the possibility of the last number of the serial number being inverted by mistake; he wrote back saying the inversion of the last number was well within the realm of possibility. My question is: has anyone else had seen such errors on other SS (or SA) daggers? If so, I'd like to hear about them (and see them if pictures are available). Thanks! Scott Here's a picture of the dagger and of the underside of the front cross-guard...
    17. Francisco - my thanks for your help was sincere . The wing is being offered in an auction which does not close for another week or so. I don't recall if anyone had bid on it yet or not. Cheers. Scott
