    1. Saw this wing being offered. It's approximately 70mm wide. Any opinions on the authenticity based on these two photos? Many thanks.

      2011 SOS

I believe so Paul -- it has the small, integral crown at the top favoring the type found on Condor Legion medal bars. The reverse has the full enamel.

      2011 SOS

Anybody here attend the SOS this week? I went Friday and Saturday and managed to find a couple of "smalls" for my collection. Would love to see what other people found!
    4. Uwe, Thank you for your reply and examples - very helpful. Scott
    5. Thank you for your replies, gentlemen.
    6. I've put a German Luftwaffe Beer Stein up for opinions in the members valuation/discussion area; the stein (if authentic) is likely from the mid-late 1930s (photo below). The design has the following wording around the central motif, "Unteroffizier Corps der hoheren Stabe im Luftkries IV". A couple of experienced collectors advised me the spelling of "Corps" (vs. Korps) should be cause for concern, while a couple of other experienced collectors in another forum told me the spelling of "Corps" (with a "C") is not unheard of for the period. I'd be interested to hear other opinions on the spelling of Corps vs. Korps in the context of a LW-themed beer stein from the mid-late 1930s. Thanks!

      Very nice!
    8. Thank you Francisco!
    9. And if you don't have medal bar, just wear something else there instead!
    10. Approximately 90mm/3.5 inches wide, 4 prong reverse. I believe this is a Spanish Nationalist wing from the SCW era. Is this a cap badge? Comments welcome!
    11. I spotted this on the web: A Spanish postcard with what appears to be a caricature of a German volunteer from the Spanish Civil War. Or perhaps I'm completely wrong? Opinions welcome.

      Spain in Iraq

I think that pretty much sums it up.

      LA MEDALLA MILITAR

Nice example VFMR - it has the "hinged" suspension ring. Does the case have any exterior markings?
    15. Wow - those are some great birds!
    16. Thank you Dolfek. Do you know the time period these medals were minted?
    17. I found this while surfing the web. My assumtion is a civilian or veteran commemortive medal of some sort. Anyone know for sure what it is?
    18. Looks like the guy standing second from right is wearing a Luftwaffe EM belt buckle. First time I've seen that.

      Spanish Cross

A very nice cross by Meybauer
    20. Another beauty Tom. Upgrading my worn, round-pin 30 for a nice wide-pin 30 is on my "to-do" list.
    21. Wow Tom, that's a beauty. Congratulations!

I think your cross is authentic. I've seen the "P" mark under the hinge of other crosses deemed authentic on this forum, but I don't recall if there was an explanation for it. I think this forum's moderators are on holiday as I've not seen them comment in quite a while.
