    1. I agree Scott, definitely a Badener. I also love the look of this medal. Here is a similar bar.
    2. Calm down. I've seen plenty of German-bashing in my time, glad this is not an example thereof. Carry on.
    3. Sorry for the delay, here are some more photos. There are no markings on the liner, other than the tailor's label on the inside of the pocket.
    4. I can't recall seeing this cross with swords either. I have an example without swords, and they do turn up fairly often.
    5. Post more images of the cross please, such as the reverse, details of the eagles and the calligraphy.
    6. I don't know about that Kampfwagenabzeichen. But I do like your engraved EK1, that's a beauty.
    7. I think you're on the right track, the combination of awards would indicate a senior NCO.
    8. Yup, definite Spangenstueck. Nice to see a bar with that many non-Bavarian south German awards.
    9. Hmm, double BMVK am Beamtenband. I know what a minefield the first classes are, so I'm waiting until our Bavarian friends chime in.
    10. LOL, I'm always astonished at the level of ignorance of buyers on both US and German fleabay. I watched this auction with the intention of bidding, but saw that it was a lost cause.
    11. Nice ones Scott, I like them all. Finding a bar with the Merit Cross of the order is unusual, and I really like the 3er with the 1st class Friedrich, that's a great wartime officer's bar.
    12. If you know anything about Meybauer, you'll realise that this manufacturer produced pieces both with and without their logo, and with differing silver content marks. Not unusual. What is unusual is the characteristic shape of their cores.
    13. They're both good private purchase pieces, first is definitely a Meybauer with replaced hardware.
    14. Nice one, those battle clasps are always cool.
    15. Local antique store find, made out to Kanonier Alois Lochner of the Bavarian 3rd Field Artillery, dated 1901. The watermark in the bottom shows a soldier with a girl. Condition is near mint.
