    1. Again, these run the gamut from pretty good to crappy. Another reason why I've quit collecting.
    2. Right, thanks for that. But I don't think I've ever seen a legit Feldschnalle with that particular device.
    3. I think the best reference source is a forum such as this one, and the collective experience gained by serious collectors.
    4. I saw this one too, and honestly didn't pay much attention to it, as fleabay has been inundated with fake Feldschnallen lately.
    5. In light of recent revelations, I think anyone with any 'trust' in these institutions is delusional.
    6. It's a nice bar to a long serving officer, and is not from the 1870 period. I agree that the ribbon is that of the FEK, and that would date this Feldschnalle after 1934. It is an 'old-fashioned' bar for this period, but the Bavarians were an iconoclastic bunch.
    7. Quite right, certainly much scarcer than a PLM, and your example is a beauty. It would be interesting to see the Lippe cross without the screw disc.
    8. Very nice projects. I'd like to see better photos of the Lippe Kreuz fuer Heldenmutige Tat in screwback version.
    9. This guy would have had to have been either a vet of or on active service with a German unit in 1897 to qualify. You're right that this group is unusual, it's much more common to find German groups with Dutch decorations rather than the other way around.
    10. Don, are those TKM's made of silver or aluminum? The first one looks like a cast for sure.
    11. I've also been watching that stupid big bar, classic Austrian faker material. And look at the number of bids.
    12. That is a crazy number. I would value this set at no more than 700. euro.
    13. I dragged out these docs, and it looks like another Hahn, this time Gustav Adolf Louis, I had him confused with one of the other Hahns. Too many roosters in the proverbial hen house!
    14. That is a very impressive Nachlass Claudio. It is quite heavy on the 'third Program', which surprises me coming from you.
