ben bijker replied to Jim R's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Wer have had a very busy year renovating a house , work etc. So I didn't really post much. Time to catch up: Here are some more clasps Unknown maker, Lüdenscheid area Schickle 1st type SB Meybauer prototype.. A nice and rare Deumer Combo And my best catch over the past year L/18 combo, hardly worn. Pic doesn't do it justice.... -
Ribbon Bar Wiederholungsspange. Original or fake?
ben bijker replied to 03fahnen's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
A very old thread, but there was no real reply on this question. Although not regulated, the mini's are copies of the larger clasps. Attached is a picture of a 9mm Boerger first pattern ek2 clasp. -
You're welcome!

The one that medalhunter posted. The eagle's head looks like Gonzo the great from the Muppet show...

Haven't been active for a long time, time to catch up... The clasp is not a wartime made piece. It is called "robot-fake" -
EK 1939 EKI Wiederholungsspangen
ben bijker replied to Jim R's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
In hindsight I think both Boergers in BM are actually P&L, marked for Boerger / sold by Boerger after P&L lost their license. Here's another one I recently bought, a very, very rare Zimmermann -

The second one is the so called "Gonzo-fake." Because the claws look like those of a raptor (Dinosauer)

Landed some very nice stuff over the past weeks.... Juncker 1st pattern ek2 clasp, near mint Minty 6. A nice R3 with stippled core and swas on a plateau. and a super-nice Petz & Lorenz ek2 in vgc, best I have seen in all my years of collecting.

Hi Alex, thank you! Yes, those are the cases I usually see them in. But it's also possible to find them in left-over ww1 stock cases. Regards, Ben -

I have seen that one Chris. A nice example. ek2 versions is very rare, but the ek1 is really hard to find. I got luck and found these 2 about 2 years apart, when they were still "affordable" Toughest to find was this one though, missed one ages ago, took me 8 years to find one...
