    1. Fresh from my email the research for my First Soviet Group. Thanks to Marco who managed a complete research and translation turn around time of 10 Days (very impressive). I hope you enjoy the research as much as i did.
    2. the bayonet in posts 301-308 is an American Krag Bayonet with proper sheath Cheers Chris
    3. Thanks so much Gentlemen i appreciate your help. I'll be posting the group, docs, and research in the appropriate section once everythings come in. Thanks again Chris
    4. Hello Everyone Just recently i managed to get my first soviet group with documents (and didn't have to sell a kidney for them). I have arranged for the research to be taken care of and will see results shortly. What i was wondering afew things in the meantime: Are these 2 documents are to the same man? What is his name? Does the award card indeed indicate a glory 3, mmm, and redstar? Are there any red flags with the document? I'm comfortable with the awards but was just curious about the docs. Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers Chris
    5. This group is currently in transit from auction house to me. It's my first soviet "Group" and i got it because as you can see it has the 3 numbered awards i'm sure the research will tell an interesting tale. My gut is leading me to think that the Glory 3 will be for operations involved in the taking of Berlin as the number is within 30,000 of the one Ed has shown. The MMM is in the 400,000 range and thank to poor photos courtesy of the auction house i'm clueless as to the number on the red star however i've been assured that the red star and all the other awards match the awards card. Can anyone tell me why there would be 2 different awards cards ones dated 43 and the other 45. Cheers Chris
    6. The King's Liverpool Regiment 8th (Scottish) Volunteer Battalion More info available on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liverpool_Scottish Cheers Chris
    7. I believe these long service awards should be named and most for sale which aren't are a result of Spink surplus getting onto the open market. I've seen a Malawi police LS&GC in hand before and it was named in a style similar to british medals. Cheers Chris
    8. very nice award Ed. The IL2 is my favorite soviet aircraft of the war by far. Great find. Cheers Chris
    9. Hello Gary I have a question The Regular Army and Prison medals say long service and good conduct on the reverse where as the police medal say meritorious service. Would the police medal be an MSM and not LS&GC. Are these named to the recipient? Cheers Chris
    10. The DSC Arrived i looked at it wasn't happy with it and sent it back. It was a very crappy fake. A modern DSC on slip mount named up C H Ehlers. So if anyone offer a DSC named to C H Ehlers give it a pass. I think for now i'm going to stick to CEF and Soveit awards. Cheers Chris
    11. I have 3 Enfields that i used for hunting an No.1 Mk3 (dated 1918 with full military stock iron sights, No.1 MK3*sporterized and scoped, and No. 4 MK2* full military stock and iron sights. I have a Mosin Nagant 91/30 and, I've also had a M1 Garand with full wood, a sporterized Enfield 17, a springfield 03, and the mighty fine Ross (sporterized unfortunately). All of which i've used to hunt Mule deer and Whitetail deer. I've also had to put down cattle with them on occasion. I really like 303 British however the 7.62x54R is a fine round also. I think everyone may have a different preference and once a person finds a rifle they like they tend to stick to it. Cheers Chris
    12. It would definately go great with the military version i had just sold you interesting to see the civil case and for everybody elses' information the case on the military version is red. Cheers Chris
