    1. Great Pics Dan, I see the the obverse monogram is a match to the image from Nimmergut where as the one on my original image appears to be less elaborate. Would this be due to simply a different maker pre 1918 or an indication of a later manufacture for this award?
    2. Hi Guys, I am thinking of purchasing this Hohenzollern Goldene Ehrenmedaille mit Schwertern. Does anyone know what would cause the inconsistency in finish from front to back? From the comparisons I have been able to make this piece seems good. What does everyone think? All comments gratefully appreciated
    3. Hi All, I been trying to find some WWI issue awards to compare to this one to, but I am not sure what to look for exactly. Can anyone tell me if this is WWI manufacture at all? Any other thoughts / comments welcome Many thanks
    4. In the case of the Lippe Detmold Honour Cross 4th class with swords I read that it was awarded only 82 times from 30th May 1905 to 11th November 1918. With Schaumburg Lippe being the smaller of the two principalities I think it would be the rarer of the two. I certainly would be interested to know how many Schaumburg Lippe Honour Crosses 4th class with swords were awarded if anyone knows?
    5. Hello Paul, Could you send me the PDF you have with Rick's bars. Many Thanks Alan ach_melon@yahoo.com.au
    6. That would be great, thanks. I had the same thought Paul. It did come with a small lot of Sachsen items, but I could not find a match with the usual award ribbon references. It came with a small lot of awards from Sachsen. I don't think it is silk and it did pass the black light test. This could be it. Thanks Pierce Thanks for the link Uwe. I will take a look
    7. Hi Gents, I picked up this ribbon with a small lot and I was wondering if anyone knows which order it may belong to? Width 25mm Length 1000mm Many Thanks
    8. Hello Gentlemen I have 2 versions of the Bayern Dienstauszeichnungskreuz 2. Klasse für 24 Jahre. The one on the left weighs 15.10g and the one on the right 19.91g and is much thicker. Can anyone tell me the approximate period of manufacture for each of these awards please. All thoughts welcome.
    9. Hello Beau, Did Peter Ohm-Hieronymussen book detail the numbers for Strelitz for the period 1914 to 1918 at all? So that I may compare with the Schwerin 23 Gold and 21 Silver for the same period.
    10. Hello All, Is it correct to say that the House Order of the Wendish Crown Gold or Silver Cross of Merit from Mecklenburg-Schwerin “Per Aspera Ad Astra” was more common than the one from Mecklenburg-Strelitz "Avito Viret Honore". Does anyone know the approximate award numbers from each Grand Duchy at all? or any articles on their relative rarity? Many thanks
    11. I would have to agree. Details soft, Lack of quality and that enamel work around the buckle, I think the term was "Monkey Hands"
