    1. Eric had shared some of his statistics with me several years ago, but having them all in book format is a real treat. I am very glad that I have had the pleasure to have met him on numerous occasions. like here at the 2004 SOS:
    2. Correct, there are know examples from the 1st and 2nd classes with and without swords with the exact same painting, also showing the "G" mark on the side of its cross arm. I unfortunately never bothered taking pictures, otherwise I would post one here.
    3. Your piece is a typical late war Glaser made piece. They did paint the medallions rather then going through the expensive process of making metal applications like Scharffenberg. Some folks claim this to be the rare 1st type, awarded up to 1912, but that is not true. Still a nice and fairly scarce knights badge.
    4. Just got this one in, nice real golden commander:
    5. Here the comparison of the bottom part of the two documents:
    6. So the signature on the Iron Cross document actually fits, implying the material on the Huesken site is OK. The typewritter is identical in-between the tank document and the Iron Cross document!
    7. Les, I believe that upon further comaprison of both documents we have actually two typwriters here. They may be similar, but the type is not identical.
    8. That is a very good observation. Certainly the same typewriter, yet it is still the same division, so that this would make sense! The ink color is different, too. Too bad there are no rolls on those awards. It would certainly be amazing if this is real !
    9. Amazing, this is the second only contemporary picture showing a Star of Brabant recipient (knight seond class). Thanks for sharing. :speechless1:
    10. ...something not seem too often, or never before:
    11. Well, I was a long time among an elected group of people at an auction in Frankfurt. I remember George Seymour and Eric Ludvigsen being there, too. My very first encounter. that auction had a real sword on ring piece. One out of three
    12. But those could have all been returned a long time ago. Since everything on there seem to have been piece type decorations....
    13. Guys, great work, this is what makes this hobby so exciting and amazing. Next round is on me
