    6. Here's my M43 Soviet tunic. It has the rank of Captain, on OGPW, 1st Class, order of the Red Star, Order of Alexander Nevsky & a yellow wound stripe(for serious wounds). I'm working on getting a holster and pistol for it.
    7. RichieC, According to my PMD The Defense of Sevastopol was instituted on 22 December 1942. The time period considered for award is 5 November 1941 to 4 July 1942. It doesn't say anything about when it was first awarded. The document it shows has an award date of 1945.
    8. Rick, I'm drooling all over my keyboard. A VERY nice find . I look forward to hearing about the man behind the medals. Doc
    9. The NKVD award may be a difficult one to research.
    10. My Order of the Badge of Honor came with an award book. It will definately be a future research project.
    11. I agree!! This is just screaming to be researched. Mike
    12. You have a great group there. Especially with the history behind the man and his medals. Mike
    13. Thank you, all!! This is the first research article I've written since High school.
    14. OOPS!! Variation1 serial number range 84,787 to 185,002. I missed that part.
    15. The edges of the arm on the plow and the flagstaff look off. also, I just checked my PMD. They have the Type 3 serial number range between 84,000 and 355,000. Variation1 serial number range 84,787 to 185,002. I missed that part. Type3 variation 1?
    16. The serial number and mint mark make it a Type 3 variation 3. On the front aside from the wear I noticed the enamel on the bottom point of the star is irregular almost over the edge of the border.
    17. It looks like a Type 3, circular, 5-sided suspension. What's the mint mark?
    18. I just checked my PMD. Something is not right with the ring. Sorry!! Still possible variation 2 repaired.
    19. Definately OGPW, 1st class. Notice traces of gold on star.
    20. A very nice gift, indeed!! Document appears to show OGPW, 1st class.
    21. Wow!! Nice haul. I'll get my first research in a couple of weeks. It's being translated. Mike
    22. Yeah, He probably kept his own awards and put the 20th & 30th GPW for looks.
