Thanks Dan!!! I noticed it was missing from the list. He has TOOOOOOOOO many ODMs!!! I was looking at the ODMs of the British Royals and I knew the Queen and Prince Phillip had TOOOOO many but, I think he comes pretty close to having the equivalent number as HM Queen Elizabeth II. Doc
Thanks Ed!!! I was determined to start collecting the IGS series. I just needed a start. Thanks to Chris P. I was able to purchase these. I look forward to the research. I know that one of the units is discussed on Soms of John Company. I'm going to read that section. Doc
USAF, That's a VERY nice bar!!! I love the Order of the Sacred Treasure. I also like the Red Cross Medal as I have both the Men's and Women's version. Again a Nice ounted group!!! Doc
Condor, Please uncover the swastikas below the eagles. I'd like to take a look at them. It's not necessary to cover them as they are a part of the medal. We study the Orders and medals of the period. The horrible events that the swastika represents is what it is...Horrible but factual. Doc
Thanks to Charles I now have an Eisernes Verdienstkreuz. The Iron Merit Cross on the ribbon of the Bravery Medal was instituted on 1 April 1916 by the Emperor Franz Joseph for enlisted troops and low-level officials. It was given on the bravery ribbon for meritorious service in war. A solid red ribbon was intended for awards made in peacetime, but no such awards were ever made. Doc Obverse
