    1. That is certainly a Soldbuch that fits the term 'salty'! Interesting that he felt the need to remove the photo in his Soldbuch but has left it in the Wehrpass.

    4. Nice first image showing the U-Boat Combat Clasp. In fact the only awards seem to worn by the two Naval men in what is a late war photo.

    13. Lovely looking 'been there' Soldbuch and a nice East German citation.
    14. EK II, IAB & NKS all in the space of 6 months shows just how tough the fighting must of been in that area.
    15. Nice set. At least you can track where he fought with the comprehensive Nahkampf list. I wonder if the NKS citation is signed by Heinz Groth (DKiG) who is listed as Rgt-Führer at that time. He is an unconfirmed winner of the RK with the Ordensträger listing the award as 09-05-1945. As stated on AHF.. 'proposal arrived at HPA on 13.04.1945 ; lacking the comments of OB HGr Süd and the note of handling by Major Domaschk ; HPA proposal Nr. 5088 prepared (21.04.1945), no further handling to recognize ; accepted by OdR in accordance with so-called “Dönitz-Erlass”'
    16. I can't say I have seen a photo of someone in the Wasserzoll before. Nice clear image. What colour would the waffenfarbe be on his cap?
    17. There might be the odd ad-hoc typed up version out there but it would seem that GD only ever used that variant of citation. No matter if it was 1942 or 1944 I have not seen a different variant from GD.
    18. Nice historical related piece signed by Max Reck, who has now been revealed as a war criminal for the murder of hospital patients in Warsaw. Max Reck - Post 5 And here on GMIC
    19. Signed by Heinrich Nickel (RK + EL and DKiG) Is that a large size? Signed by Heinz von Randow (DKiG)
    20. So many variations. Arnold Altvater-Mackensen was actually also an SS-Oberführer who resigned from the SS in 1942. Here is a picture of him (post #5)... Arnold Altvater-Mackensen
    21. Very well spotted. In 1938 there was an Oberst Arnold Altvater-Mackensen in command of SS-Junkerschule Bad Tölz and he did indeed command Inf.Rgt 211 from October 1939 to October 1940. Apologies for casting doubts.
    22. It shouldn't be as he never commanded Inf.Rgt 211. In 1940 he was commanding Inf.Rgt 37. The thing is it does look like it is 'trying' to say Alexander von Hartmann but it can't be him. Does anyone know who commanded Inf.Rgt 211 in 1940? If that is trying to be Alexander von Hartmann's signature then it calls into question the originality of the documents. I have a niggling feeling that they are faked. This is Hartmann's signature... AvHartmann
