    1. No it isn`t. Both badges made by the same technology. This is because you are trying to compare orders that was made by official Kapitul contractors with badges that was made by private independent workshops. That's probably not a good idea.
    2. Well known replica. We gonna need the pictures from the auction since in a few months the link will be dead and this thread useless.
    3. Comparison with the previous badge will be pointless since there were quite a few manufacturers.
    4. Bet this one gonna make you even more flummoxed
    5. They used his photo from early 1920s. With Sun Yat-sen (naturally before March 1925).
    6. Yes, it does. Commemorative badge for the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of War. Established on May 29, 1910.

      Japanese documents

      諏佐兼四郎 - Kenshiro Susa
    8. All medals and orders are originals (only ribbon for the russo-japanese war medal is a replacement) but the combination is unrealistic. Unfortunately it looks like put together bar.

The second document is for 7th class of sacred treasure. Issued on 23.02.1922 清水淳 - Jun Shimizu 8th class rising sun doc issued on 29.04.1940 The photo is too blur to read the name.
    10. This medal bar doesn`t look very promising ... Regarding the 9th medal - unofficial. Obverse bears two kanji 水 - water 協 - cooperation Any inscriptions at reverse?
    11. Is it in silver or aluminium?

      A little riddle ...

Fire brigade/association badge. 通常會員 - regular/normal member Looks like Meiji/Taisho badge.
    13. Hope these two will be in some help.
    14. When the classes of all three orders are equal Golden Kite/Rising Sun/Sacred Treasure 4th kite/4th sun/4th treasure If not thеn by (class) seniority. For example combination 6th class kite 5th class rising sun 4th sacred treasure should be wear like this Sacred treasure/Rising sun/Golden Kite 6th sun/7th kite/7-8th treasure Best, Nick
    15. Nice condition. Any marks? Looks like late 30s+ piece.
    16. You're welcome. Just in case - another possible variation of ribbon/rosette/case that is typical for orders marked with ナ. So called "pink" ribbon.
    17. Pretty early badge from Meiji/early Taisho epoch. The case, the ribbon and the rosette came from the different (much later) epoch. Put together set. Looks like the badge is marked with ナ mark. The correct case (and ribbon) for such order should look like this. Życzę powodzenia, Nick
    18. Thank you guys for these photos. The main manufacturer of "simple" badges was Tokyo workshop Gyokuhō. It is interesting to note that they used old style kanji for 3 (in seal script) at the lid of the case 参 but modern style at the pin 三
    19. David, these two badges are pretty rare. Could you post quality photos of obverse/reverse/case. Any labels or inscriptions inside (or at the back) the cases?
    20. Really nice badges indeed. Thanks!
    21. Nice badges. David, please post the separate photos of the badge made by Seishukan workshop and 7th class badge (one of 4 separate shots of a 6th Class badge is in fact 7th class inside the case). P.S. Pictures were added while I was typing this
    22. 帝国海事協會 - Imperial Marine Association 参等功勞章 - 3rd class merit badge 義勇艦隊建設 - construction of Volunteer Fleet (not simply "fleet construction" or another wrong translation "dutiful and brave fleet construction"). Regarding this "Volunteer fleet". The pin of this badge should bear the inscription 参等功労章 Let`s take a look at the reverse
