A little info about this badge Badges for 1 000 000 km Trouble-Free Milage of Locomotive and 500 000 km Trouble-Free Milage of Locomotive were introduced by Ministry of Railway Transport order #29ц on July 18, 1985. Original order МИНИСТЕРСТВО ПУТЕЙ СООБЩЕНИЯ СССР ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18 июля 1985 г. N 29Ц ПРИКАЗ О введении нагрудных значков "За безаварийный пробег на локомотиве 1000000 км" и "За безаварийный пробег на локомотиве 500000 км" (извлечение) В целях повышения активности локомотивных бригад за гарантированное обеспечение должностных обязанностей, престижности профессии машиниста и помощника машиниста локомотивов ПРИКАЗЫВАЮ: 1. Ввести нагрудные значки "За безаварийный пробег на локомотиве 1000000 км" и "За безаварийный пробег на локомотиве 500000 км". 2. Утвердить Положение о нагрудных значках "За безаварийный пробег на локомотиве 1000000 км" и "За безаварийный пробег на локомотиве 500000 км" (приложение N 1) и описание (приложение N 2). 3. I believe that entry from 12.05.46 refers to him as Guards private of 104th Guards airborn division Under "104th Guards airborn division" we see "okr. (i.e. okrug/district) MGB. More about 104th division and structure of soviet-russian airborne troops http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Airborne_Troops He was demobilize on March (?) 18, 1947. -

Blue one reads "From front-line forces" It was used between 1914 and 1917. All letters from army to Empire were free of charge. During official registration of letter these stamps were used to indicate that "From front-line forces" can be in purple, blue or red ink. Of course there were unit stamps in Russian Imperial Army during WWI. Actually around 20 000 of such stamps!
