    1. As for the GPW veterans, the veterans of the "Revolutionary Mongolia" tank brigade and "Mongolian arat-people" air squad have been awarded with the Nairamdal medal. These two combat units received tanks and fighter planes made on the donations of the Mongolian people during the GPW. The Mongolian Government had a very special relations with these two units and a number of Mongolian pins marking the anniversary of these two units were also issued. Both units were also awarded with the Mongolian Combat awards. Not to mention many officers and soldiers awarded with the combat awards during the GPW.
    2. Yes, the officers of the 39th army were awarded with the Mongolian People's Army and People's revolution anniversary medals. But compared to the total number of the officers that used to serve, a fraction was ever awarded. Since People's and Army revolution medals were instituted on a decade by decade basis, only those who happened to be serving and also working closely with the Mongolian counterparts were awarded. Those who happened to be serving in the "mid-term" period usually were not awarded as they were posted for 2-3 years.
    3. There is a variation of this badge discussed above in this tread. The badges have the same design except for the inscription at the 6 o'clock position. One variation reads "The best sword hitter" and another "the best shooter".
    4. The Badge of the "Best Sword hitter" of the Mongolian People's revolutionary army. The banner has the text "the poof of the world unite". Clearly resembles the Soviet Order of the Red Banner. This badge is made of copper and enamels. Unfortunately much of the enamel is gone but still retains some. Large is size, around 5 cm in height and 4.4 cm in width.
    5. Badge of the 80 Years to Mongolian Border Troops. Personally I liked this badge. The quality is much better than the 70 and 60 Years badges.
    6. Badge of the two - time national champion of the traditional archery.
    7. hero of the Mongolian People's Republic Colonel Shagdar Gongor.
    8. A photo from another tread of this forum.
    9. Someone is trying to sell this fake badge at one of the Russian forums. The enamel is of low quality (not a hot enamel but cold). Also the details of the sword and sword handle show the difference. The Roman number 10 or X is floppy and the details of the 12 and 22 (in old Mongol numbers) is less pronounced.
    10. For your viewing pleasure: a new bronze monument of Marshal Choibalsan and the facade of the National University of Mongolia.
    11. Jan, The lowest I have seen so far for this variation. Glad to share. Thanks. Urnukh
    12. I know that there is a separate tread on this badge already but I could not figure out how to attach a picture. So decided to start a new topic. Sorry. Anyway, my latest acquisition: Shockworker badge of the MPR # 18.
    13. Successor of the Honorary Chekist badge of the Mongolian People's Republic, the Badge of Honorary Employee of Mongolian General Intelligence Department. Made of white metal, hot and cold enamel. Screwback.
    14. #166 is the number of the decree (Ukaz) of the Presidium of the People's Great Khural. The document you have been awarded with the medal in 1967.
    15. Commander Choibalsan taken at the same period. You can clearly see the collar insignia on this image.
    16. Choibalsan is posing next to Budyionyi in 1925 or so. Choibalsan is wearing the uniform of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Army. The collar insignia is of the Commander of the Mongolian Army.
