Very nice tunic! I think, the belt is missing, isn´t it? The medals are: Médaille militaire and Croix de guerre with 1 star and 1 palm The upper sleeve badge might be the "Insigne général por aéronautique/aérostation He wers the pilot badge on his right breast. His rank is a sergeant-major

Another guess: Aufklärungs-Abteilung 256 Set up august,26, 1939. At March,10, 1942, integrated into Panzerjäger- und Aufklärungs-Abteilung 256 Divisions-Bataillon 256 Set-up april, 21, 1943 from parts of Panzerjäger- und Aufklärungs-Abteilung 256 with two Grenadier-companies and a heavy squadron. july,26., 1943 renamed in Divisions-Füsilier-Bataillon (A.A.) 256 Tessin writes, the Regiment did recieve "Kavallerie-Tradition". I don´t know exatly what that means. There also was a Div.Füs.Abtl.30. Since november 3, 1943, ist was called Div.Füs.Abtl.30 (A.A.), again with "Kavallerie-Tradition"

Thank you, Chris! Well, I got it a few years ago, but I thought, I showed it here, but I was wrong. I think I fogot to show it... My neighbour has a sad family-history. He lost three brothers in the war. Those both and another one, who served with the Marine. Here is the last document of that estate. I removed the adress, because it´s still the same house in which I live now, and I don´t want to make it public. I don´t know, who reads this forum too... The Korvettenkapitän is Dr. Dralle (nov.41-jan.43)

Hello! My neighbour (age 79) gave me the following pieces of his brother! It´s absolutely fantastic!!!!! All medals were included. Unfortunately the Nahkampfspange is missing. Note the star upon his shoulder straps!!!!! That is the Inf.Div.227, lead by Generalleutnant v. Scotti. The star was the personally sign of the family Scotti! He also gave me the Frontflugspange für Auflärer, worn by his second brother. The swastika was removed, because was he POW in an american camp. He removed it, so the americans didn´t take it away

Translation Hilfe - "Fliegermasten"
The Prussian replied to IrishGunner's topic in Deutsche Kaiserreich: Man spricht Denglish
According to the the two possible words... Eine Maske / plural: Masken (engl.: mask) Ein Mast / plural: Masten (engl.: pole; or in electrical engeneering: pylon) So I can´t see a sense in Fliegermasten, but in Fliegermasken. That would be a mask for pilots. -

France French WWI "Death's Head" Artillery Unit?
The Prussian replied to IrishGunner's topic in France
Hi Rick! I´d rather be taking the blond one in the red/white dress, then the blond one in the glass... (in Germany a beer also is called "ein kühles Blondes" (a cold blond, but I think the english trem is "a pale beer") Well, I just googled "Tête de mort artillerie francaise". By the way, I prefer this lovely one: -

It´s a skullhead and it´s not a skullhead... Probably it is a french artillery badge, turned into a skulhead... -

Everything´s possible, mate! I have a german glass, made in the early 50s, stamped with "armée francaise". That was one of those, the german factories had to made to pay the german "war-bill" to the allies. There ain´t no regimental markling, but a proof, that german glasses were used by foreign armies. Maybe there was the same procedure after WWI?

Hello friends! Right now I can´t make out a sense about 1./J.L. It´s correct, the the slash mostly was used in the post-war era, but what does 1./J.L. mean? J.L. stands for Landwehr-Kompanie of a Jäger-Bataillon, but the company number comes after the J.L. Maybe it´s a Freikorps stamp or the glass was used by allied units???
