Haynau Out of curiosity do you happen to know what her name is? There is a new ebay.de seller, also a woman, selling off some questionable bars belonging to a long time collector. Her current ID is sigis-romanecke, and she is selling the following: [attachmentid=52458] -
Paul It looks like: 1. 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class 2. Anhalt Freidrich's Cross 3. 1919 Silesian Eagle 2nd Class (a Freikorps award) 4. Hindenburg Cross 5. Hungarian WWI Commemorative 6. Prussian War Commemorative Cross 7. Honor Legion Medal 8. Flander's Cross 9. Kyffhauser-Bund However, I thought after the Hindenburg Cross was issued the last four were prohibited from being worn. Rick OK, not sure who we are talking about but the orders are as follows, right to left per Frack Bar: Turkey, Order of Osmania Montenegro, Order of Danilo (French manufatue) Romania, Order of the Crown Montenegro, Nicholas Commemorative medal, 1910 Portugal, Coronation Medal 1889 Turkey, Red Crescent Decoration Turkey, Liakat Medal in silver And of course these are all traceable? From the order of mounting this would appear to be Turkish with a rather unusal combination of awards. The backing looks like herringbone wool? Does anyone know if Turkish bars were mounted in "Frack Bar" style? [attachmentid=48436] [attachmentid=48438]

I found an interesting medal bar with a Hohenzollern Golden Honor Medal with Swords. Does anybody have any information about how many of these were awarded, their value and was this a strickly noncom/EM award? Any comments on the medal bar would be appreciated also. Regards, Mark [attachmentid=47241]

Dave Very true, but swords were added to the award sometime between 1906 and 1909, several years before the change to the war ribbon. I know that colors appear different in black and white photos, so I was comparing the obviously striped Schwarzburg ribbon to the Reuss ribbon when I asked about whether it appeared to be on a statute ribbon. I bought this interesting photo postcard off ebay.de about a week back. Sadly there is no name. The reverse is unmailed and has written in pencil 3 Th?ringisches Jnf.Rgt.Nr.71, Unser Major. This must have been an older photo of the officer as is rank is clearly a Hauptmann. The medal bar is rather interesting - an EK2, DA, Schwarzburg SE 3x and a Reuss REK 3x/c. Does anyone have a unit history of this regiment that they might be able to put a name with is officer? [attachmentid=47146]

Kronenorden You are correct on the last ribbon. I agree that the colors look like it is a Bavarian award but I could not find any that match. The closest Bavarian match would be a long service award but the blue is different. It does however look like the Finnish Medal of Liberty 1st class (pictured below, 3rd award). However, no ribbon bar device was worn on this ribbon that I know of. By the way, spectacular Reuss bar! Should you ever wish to part with it...... Regards, Mark [attachmentid=45829]

Nothing as spectacular as Kronenorden's bar but this ribbon bar just arrived. I am curious about the blue and white ribbon after the Reuss. It looks like a Finnish Medal of Liberty 1st class. However, it appears to have had some type of device pinned to it and I am not aware of this award having any. Any suggestions? [attachmentid=45820] [attachmentid=45821]
