Let me add some weight to this discussion - flatback nr 1800 = 15.2gr - non-flat, dark reverse nr 534 = 15.2gr - non-flat, dark reverse nr 791 = 16.0gr - non-flat, silvery reverse nr 3283 = 16.4gr - non-flat, silvery reverse nr 3382 = 14.7gr Note: I can highly recommend a nice little Tanita scale (model 1479V) I purchased via eBay recently. Small, weighs up to 120gr with 0.1gr precision. Have fun herding your flock!

Here's an overview of my small but growing Albanian collection. Awards clearly more "sober" than your typical soviet collection I guess but I actually like the basicness / crudeness of them and the symbolism is quite strong on some as well (especially like the Skanderbeg!). Other great point: items rarer than a tractor lenin cost less than an odessa medal!

For a "casual" Mongolian collector just interested in an SB and 1 or 2 other nice things, you sure are moving ahead quickly expanding your collection. Be careful, Mongolian can get addictive

Why add a number in front?

I think we need to go towards an excel file and attach it (regularly updated - e.g. monthly) to this post. Anything missing if following columns used: - Award - Type / Variation - Number - Awardee - Award date If one of the above aspects (e.g. number of the award, or name) is unkown then that cell is left blank. Slowly it will become a full database in an easily usable format as opposed to word documents. The key is also making it continuously publically available as only then will people feel a motivation to provide update information. We can split this if needed to divide the work of maintenance (e.g. 1 focus on certain orders, 1 focus on medals, etc.) but having multiple lists or info spread all over the place serves no benefit.

Valid points. In any case, everybody benefits if there is: - a comprehensive list (one - not multiple!) - publically available The types / variations discussion has probably now slowed to the point where this should be easily possible.

What's started bugging me is that the information is available... just all over the place. People want to continue to maintain their own lists (redundancy as well?) but nevertheless why not have 1 central "checkin" thread so all people can benefit from the availability of the information.

Anybody with a plausible explanation of why there has yet to appear a booklet for these awards? Perhaps thousands were produced but only a VERY limited number were actually awarded? I.e. we're all buying "souvenirs" from the state mint?
