Serbia Serbia Kingdom medal Bar on Ebay
paja replied to Emanuel's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Greetings Emanuel, I saw that medal bar, I think it was sold for somewhere about 200$. What do you think about this one? Same seller, no "hooks" for medals and a bit sloppy sewing. Some of the ribbons were identified by the seller, he said that all of them are from Obrenovic era except 1913 war commemorative medal (+Red Cross medal). Anyway If I am not mistaken this bar is consisting of: --White Eagle --Takovo Cross --St. Sava --Aleksandar Obrenovic coronation medal (according to seller) --Silver bravery medal (1876, 1877-78, 1885-86) --1876-78 war commemorative medal (according to seller) [on non-combatants ribbon?] --1885-1886 war commemorative medal --Serbian Red Cross medal (white, peace-time ribbon) [if this ribbon was for a cross, not medal, I think it wouldn't have been on the place before the last] --1913 war commemorative medal Does anyone happen to have a complete order of precedence for Serbian (Obrenovic dynasty era) and then later Yugoslav (Karadjordjevic dynasty era) decorations? I would be very grateful is someone could share it with us. Regards, Radmilo http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_11_2012/post-7937-0-14870100-1351784435.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_11_2012/post-7937-0-71128500-1351784444.jpg -
Serbia KINGDOM OF SERBIA - St. Sava, unknown producer?

By the way is that Order of Republic of Srpska on your avatar picture? Haven't seen many of those, is it a part of your collection? -
Serbia KINGDOM OF SERBIA - St. Sava, unknown producer?

So there are actually two hallmarks on the ring. On that ebay picture only one can be seen. Guess one hallmark must be for silver and the other one is producer's. Anyway thank you for your help and pictures! Regards, Radmilo -
Serbia ЗА ХРАБРОСТ in my collection
paja replied to Igor Ostapenko's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Thank you Igor for sharing pictures of your collection with us! To tell you the truth I think I've never seen numbered Obilic before. I've seen some with the name of the producer inscribed in the back, but never with the number. Can you tell us where did you get it and do you happen to know to who it was awarded? -

In my opinion the most beautiful of all of the communist Yugoslavia medals, in any case the rarest one. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2012/post-7937-0-15161700-1351694902.jpg. -

Yugoslavia FPR Yugoslavia - Medal for Merit
paja posted a topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Greetings gentlemen, There are 2 variants of this medal. First type (1952-1963) with the inscription Federativna Narodna Republika Jugoslavija (FNRJ) and the second type with the inscription Socijalisticka Federativna Republika Jugoslavija (SFRJ). According to some sources only 845 of these medals were awarded (1952-1985). Strange thing about this medal is that it takes the last place in the order of precedence but it was awarded 100-250 times less than the rest of the medals, and less than a bigger part of orders! Here is mine, the first, FNRJ type, unfortunately ribbon has been changed. -
Serbia Serbia - THE CHARITY CROSS
paja replied to Igor Ostapenko's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Greetings gentlemen, I just wanted to conclude that in the post #3 we can see pictures of all 4 (5) types of the Charity Cross. -- 1. type has a year 1912 inscribed with large numbers on the front side with the Cyrillic text "ZA NEGU RANJENIKA I BOLESNIKA" (for taking care of the wounded and the sick) around it. -- 2. type is the same as the previous except the year is changed to 1913, and the eagle on the back side is silver. Only on this type color of the eagle is silver, on the rest of the medals it is always golden. -- 3. type has the inscription "ZA NEGU" in the central part of the medal and the the rest of the slogan "RANJENIKA I BOLESNIKA" and the year 1912 around it. This type has 2 variants. First - medal is minted from a single piece of metal, and the second variant where the central part is made separately and then applied to the cross. -- 4. type is different by size. First three types are 40x40mm while dimensions of the central part are 15x15mm, fourth type is 38x38mm and 18x18mm. Regards, Radmilo -
Yugoslavia St. Sava ... Star
paja replied to Igor Ostapenko's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Don't mention it Igor. I think that you have a great collection of Serbian bravery decorations. You have managed to collect all types of bravery medals from the Karadjordjevic dynasty era. Maybe you should get one White Eagle with swords just to keep company to Karageorge Star with swords. :) -

GC you are welcome. I will now upload couple of pictures of these hat badges. All of them are different. But first I would just like to point out that non of these are mine and that all of the pictures are from various internet auction sites (at least I think so). I hope that no one will mind. Paul you are welcome, I'm glad if my reply helped you. This question about monograms has been bothering me for quite some time as well. Maybe the answer can be found in the book, unfortunately I still haven't got a copy of my own. Regards, Radmilo -
Yugoslavia St. Sava ... Star
paja replied to Igor Ostapenko's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
You are most welcome Igor. My apologies once again if I mislead you. So in the end there are 4 producers of 3rd type of St. Sava. -- 1. Huguenin -- 2. Sorlini, 3 variants: - Low quality - Better quality - Rare variant with the Saint in the red robes (only 4th and 5th grade with FS hallmark on the ring, http://gmic.co.uk/in...known-producer/) -- 3. Griesbach and Knaus (only 4th and 5th grade with GK hallmark on the ring) -- 4. Zimmermann If there are more producers and/or variants or if I got something wrong please feel free correct me. Best regards, Radmilo -
It's really sad that the burglars took your grandfather's orders. Maybe you should register on every forum like GMIC that you can find and post the list of orders that were stolen from you. Burglars will most likely try to sell them and if they are stupid enough to a commit a crime like that then they might stupid enough to try to sell them for example on ebay-like sites. It can't hurt to notify collecting community about this, maybe someone somewhere will stumble upon your grandfather's orders.
