    1. Another Lieutenant of Artillery although not sure why on black instead of red. [attachmentid=52255] [attachmentid=52257]
    2. This is the inside of the strap and under the board: [attachmentid=52254] Both boards are the same and have a number 2 under the strap as shown.
    3. Hi all, I'm assuming these are all Soviet. Don't know a ton about them but figured I'd post and perhaps get the scoop from some of the members who may specialize in these. First off the ones I was told are WWII. Lieutenant of Artillery: [attachmentid=52252]
    4. Hi all, Always loved this style of buckle. Got this one for all of $5 many moons ago. Only wish I had the belt and cross strap to go with it. [attachmentid=52250] [attachmentid=52251] Dan
    5. [attachmentid=52246] The tunic is a size M44. The info in the cap is MdI size 56 1856 Y. And the cap comes complete with East German newspaper or other printed material in the inside as a stiffener as is so common in so many of their caps. Dan
    6. Hi Kevin, Wow! Many thanks for those. I haven't even had a chance to check my Nato and other guides yet as I think they're in there too. Great stuff. Perhaps some day I'll come up with some more and be able to start a collection of these too. Just what I need, eh? Thanks!!!! Dan
    7. Hi Rob, Can't wait to see pics of the new additions! And hey, what are friends for but to make each other spend more money on goodies to love? Bet she's a beaut! Dan
    8. Hi all, Here's the first of my DDR uniforms... Transportation Police: [attachmentid=52240] Tunic and peaked cap. Sadly no slacks. Still has the tag on the sleeve. I just realized this doesn't show the patch on the sleeve. Will have to try to do some more pics later. Or might just do a scan of it and the tag. Dan
    9. Und die pointy kind you don't vant to fly in die balloon mit! [attachmentid=52235] [attachmentid=52236] [attachmentid=52237] [attachmentid=52238] And yes, this one needs to be cleaned. Probably yet another project for tomorrow. Dan
    10. Hi all, Pat inspired me to post mine. So here goes: [attachmentid=52229] [attachmentid=52230] [attachmentid=52231]
    11. Hi Pat, Great looking helmet! Probably an early battlefield pickup or souvenir by the look of it. I think the guys learned fairly fast that a dirty or rusty look on a helmet helped to give them a bit of camo and keep them from being too obvious. Definitely don't want to stand out as a target when everyone is shooting in your general direction! I've got a couple of these... also without liner, etc. Will have to do up some pics and post at some point. Thanks for sharing... great find! Dan
    12. Hi Pat, "Very" nice piece there... good find! Love the woodwork. Someone put alot of effort into that one. I've got a wood plate with the different German state seals on it but it pales in comparison to this. And of course mine was done post war as a souvenir type item. Wish I could find good stuff like that these days. Besides being good period pieces they're also great as added decor with any related collection in a den or display area. Dan
    13. Hi Pat, Some funny things about the back here that show up in the pic. Not funny bad... just funny unusual. If you look just above the center slot it looks as if part of a swastika was scratched there... perhaps all of it at one time and just scratched out or worn down on some combination over time. To the left and slightly below the top hole is what looks very much like a black stahlhelm. If you then look just to the right of the hole at the same level as the stahlhelm you'll see where it looks like someone scratched or engraved the letter A as in the bloodgroup on the front of the tag. Also, if you look just above the little stahlhelm you'll see what looks like another much smaller swastika. Although I only found that when I saved the pic over and blew it up on my laptop. Might be just the kinds of things some SS member might have "doodled" on some of his equipment where it would likely not be seen... and since they were all nazi symbols I doubt anyone would have said a word. Just a thought. Dan
    14. Hi Paul, Beautiful collection! Many thanks for posting these as I'll be able to make some comparisons with mine. Very helpful indeed! Dan
    15. Hi Laurence, Actually, now that I think of it... a little out of column a and a little out of column b. Again even the buttons are unusual as it seems like most I've seen have either been specific to an organization or the pebbled type in use by the military. And again these were two reasons I'd always thought that they were post war. The other pair could have gone either way as it was more in line with those I'd always seen. I just wish both were in better shape but again the damage was done long before I got ahold of them. Dan
    16. Hi Ed, Many thanks for the info. Well, looks like I've done stepped into fairly unknown territory. They're beautiful pieces and I do hope more information will come to light down the road. I also had found the Sukhrat was a labor award but could not find anything much to speak of about the Shukhrat. Thanks, Dan
    17. Hi Laurence, Many thanks for all the info you passed along on these. Wanted to reply to you earlier but got caught up with work. But I deeply appreciate your help on these. Have had them forever and a day and never realized they were WWII period. I've never seen one with those metal "clips" underneath. Is that something unusual or what? I've never even seen them referred to in references. Many thanks, Dan
    18. Hi Paul, Really? Again you can knock me over with a feather! Now I wish I'd kept the other stuff that came with it. Had no idea whatsoever that it was anything other than post war. Many thanks for that info and for moving it over! Dan
    19. Hi Devin, Hey my friend... all donations gleefully accepted! Seriously though, I have a few refs that list them... was just far too bleary eyed last night to dig them out and check. I "think" at least one of the refs I have shows the branch colors... or at least some of them. But if you find yours if nothing else we can cross check. The "Luft" ones I took off of what I was told is a Luftwaffe greatcoat I got for all of $5 ages ago. It fits and it's very warm so I have used it for years as a neat winter coat. I've been tempted to collect both the West and East German boards/tabs but so far it's just been a few pieces here and there... as you say generally as throw ins and such. There was a whole box I'd have loved to get if I could have worked it out as a bulk deal with the fellow who runs Viking Militaria down in Colorado when I was there several years ago. He was very indifferent to all the W & E German insignia, etc. at that time. Could have probably gotten the whole box (big one too! ) for a song and then dug to my hearts content later. I love to do that. Treasure hunt! I had to pass up a big bag of Stasi boards and such once... had nearly all if not all the levels from enlisted up through officer save General of course... if I remember correctly. And was not too much... but other things took precedence and the budget didn't permit me to get it all. Mucho thanks! Dan
    20. Hi all, These were throw in's on a deal a while back. Never seen others so thought I'd post them. If you have any please post yours too. I believe these are saying that cooperation is better. [attachmentid=52128] [attachmentid=52129] Dan
    21. A Mountain Corps patch: [attachmentid=52126] [attachmentid=52127] Dan
